Continuing with the 5 year time skip from this point on.

Cora~

"-I don't want it to be public. It's between-" Damian's voice gets cut off.

"Oh hey, Cora," Richy says, cutting him off as they walk through the door.

"Hey guys, how was Brother Night?" I ask, setting down my book. Technically it's for work, but I love the author so it doesn't feel like it. The labor of a critique is easy compared to that of a writer.

"It went great. No one died, and we're all still in this dimension. I count it as a win." Richy informs.

"It happened one time." I cross my arms playfully. He shrugs.

"Regardless, I'm happy to be home." Dami gives me a peck on the cheek on his way to the kitchen. "Did you eat?" He calls.

"Yeah." I return loudly. Richy is looking at me like I just said something cute. I raise a brow.

"Oh don't mind me. You're just so domestic. I'm jealous, honestly." He laments, despite having a steady girlfriend of his own.

"Uh-huh. How's Heather? Is she settling in okay?" I question. Moving in with your boyfriend can be a big change, regardless of time or previous living arrangements. I would know.

"She's already taken over my closet and the bathroom sink. She's good." He assures me. Damian reappears with a bowl of apple slices.

"It's a sign of comfort." He comments. I give him a look while he snacks.

"We have separate closets." I remind him. He shrugs.

"And yet I still find my hoodies in yours. Strange." He smirks. I send him a playful glare.

"Alright guys, I'll get out of your hair. I was just the DD, and Jay's probably already looking for the keys." Richy says, moving to the door. I wave him off.

"Thanks for bringing him back in one piece," I call. He waves behind him. When the door closes I look to Damian. "You went drinking?"

"I went with them. I barely had 2 drinks." He assures, settling himself on the couch beside me.

"Still. Usually, you don't drink. Was it a special occasion or is something wrong?" I ask with concern. I don't think I've heard anything from anyone.

"Just a long day of work and peer pressure from my annoyances." He admits, offering me an apple slice.

"You'd think they'd be more responsible after last time," I comment. I can still hear Damian's voice when he used his one phone call. Not the best memory I have of those dorks.

"Todd was stripped of his weapons and his keys this time," Damian assures. I allow a gentle smile to my face.

"Then did you have fun?" I ask. He gives me a no-longer-rare smile.

"Yes. It was enjoyable." He says, his eyes glittering with emotion.

"Good. You deserve a break." I lean in just to give him a short kiss. I can taste the bitter alcohol he had not too long ago.

"I see you didn't take one." He says with his cheeks tinted pink. His eyes don't stray from mine, but I know he's talking about the book.

"It's a good book. I was kinda taking a break." I shrug. He shakes his head, setting down his snack.

"Come here. Take a real break." He instructs, arms open and welcoming. Not one to refuse, I settle myself in his arms until we're cuddling.

"I should tell your manager to give you the week off." He mutters. I chuckle.
