16 years later
"I can't believe I'm finally going to Hogwarts!" Exclaimed Scorpius, looking round Kings Cross Station with brown-eyed interest.
"You'll love it there, little bro," grinned his older sister Jennifer.
"Come along now, Jenn, Scorp," laughed their mother Merielle. She slipped her hand into her husband's lovingly.
"Your mother and I will finally have a peaceful year without you two," grinned Draco, "But for Christmas, I'll have piles of presents for you."
"You know, I've lost count of the amount of times I've run through this brick wall because of Jenn, but this time I'll be going myself," Scorpius said thoughtfully.
"Let's go then!" Jennifer was already running through, her dark brown curls swishing behind her.
The family emerged onto Platform 9¾. Children were hugging their parents goodbye and stepping onto the Hogwarts Express. The huge train was puffing steam, awaiting departure.
"Look, there they are!" Jennifer waved enthusiastically as the Potters came up to them.
"Ella, Draco," greeted Harry, "How've you been?"
"Splendid," grinned Merielle, hugging Ginny.
"Albus is also starting his first year, just like Scorpius," said Ginny, smiling.
"Merielle!" Hermione and Ron, with their daughter Rose, rushed up to them.
"Hello, you all," Merielle laughed. As the others began to catch up on each other's lives, Merielle turned to Draco and Scorpius, who were talking.
"You'll have a great time at Hogwarts," assured Draco.
Merielle fondly smoothed her son's blond hair. "Your father spent most his years saying how much he despised it, but we all know he loved it really."
"Would've loved it even more if you were there for all seven years," grinned Draco at her.
"I'll miss you both," Scorpius said, hugging his mother. Merielle kissed his forehead.
"Write to us about everything. We'll miss you too, sweetie."
"Your grandfather Lucius has ensured you have the best dormitory at Hogwarts, no matter your house. Wouldn't want to miss that now, would you?" Draco laughed.
"Mum! Dad!" Jennifer hugged them both. "Goodbye!"
"Bye bye, darling," smiled Merielle, "Take care of you brother now, won't you?"
"I don't know if he'll end up in Gryffindor like me. He might be a Slytherin."
"We'll be proud no matter what," Merielle said.
"Yes...just not Hufflepuff," Draco added.
"Draco!" chastised his wife. She smiled at her children, looking at them for the last time before they left.
Jennifer, with her dark brown curls, grey eyes and fiery personality. Scorpius, with his platinum blond hair, brown eyes and mild but cunning personality.
"Let's board the train together," Albus smiled at Scorpius. Rose Granger-Weasley offered him a smile from behind. Scorpius turned to his parents, who gave him a nod. The three stepped onto the train.
"Hey James," said Jennifer, smiling at the eldest Potter child. She tucked a curl behind her ear. He grinned cockily back at her.
"Hello, Jenna. Let's go, shall we?"
Merielle smiled to herself as she watched them.
"Oh no no, definitely not," murmured Draco, also watching.
Merielle chuckled. "Let them be, Draco. They're just kids. Like we were."
"Yeah, and you married me, remember? What if...you know...Imagine a Malfoy and a Potter. The scandal! The horror!"
"Gosh, you're so dramatic, darling," laughed Merielle, kissing him on the lips, "Besides, a Stargline and a Malfoy married. The media got over that. After a few years."
"I don't think they have," said Draco, looking to where two news reporters were clicking their cameras at them.
The couple waved back to their children as the Hogwarts Express trundled out of the station. They waved until its scarlet body had vanished from sight.
Draco's arm tightened round her waist. "Now we'll have some time to ourselves. Just us two." His low breath tickled her ear. "How about baby number three, darling?"
Merielle twisted round to look up at him. "I don't think so. Two is more than enough, Malfoy."
"If you say so...Mrs Malfoy."
"Lady Malfoy," she grinned.
"You two, come on!" Ron said from where he, Hermione, Harry and Ginny were. "Let's go get something to eat and catch up on each other. You two are always in your fancy mansion and leading fancy lives."
"Oh Ronald, you can never have enough food," Hermione shook her head.
Draco's hand slipped round Merielle's lovingly as the couple walked over.
This was how it was all supposed to be. Nothing was perfect, but they were content this way. They had each other, a family, friends. And even though they had been torn apart so many times, and been through so many things, they had fought through. In the end, they had found their way back to one another. Merielle and Draco. Draco and Merielle.
The world was a better place.
