The warmth of the sun touched my cheek and woke me from my sleep. I rose from my bed and walked over to the window I was facing the garden to my absolute pleasure. I missed London. My room was painted in a light yellow that just made me smile.

Knock knock
"So sorry miss I didn't know you were awake. Should have called for me." Margret walked in with my morning tea and biscuits.

"None sense, I just woke." She nodded as she set the tea down and I took a seat at my vanity.

"What is it that you would like to wear today?"

"Well that depends is my mother home?"

"No she has gone out early in the morning to her sisters Mrs. Rosbend"

"Oh yes she did say that at dinner last night. She will be there all day catching up on everything she has missed since we went home. Well then I'll wear the grey gown. I have no plans to leave the house and hopefully we will not have any visitors."

We spent the next moments getting myself ready for the day I decided that my long hair would fall loosely down my back in its slight curls. The gown fit nicely tightly but not to tight that I couldn't breath.

Since I had no plans I went to see where the rest of the family was starting with my father. Who was in his office.

"Good Morning father." He was sitting at his desk smoking a pipe, looking over the morning news paper.

"Ah good morning Alice. What do you have planned for today?" He said motioning the chair in front of him.

"Nothing actually."

"No plans to see your friends or riding to the park?" He asked

"No not quite yet I would like to take the day to enjoy it. Now that we're here mother will drag me everywhere and not leave me alone for a single moment so I will enjoy the small break." He burst into laughter his whole body shaking.

"That is very true my wise daughter. Enjoy your day. Oh and the books you ordered have come. They are there sitting on the table by the front door." I stood now excited for my books. "Thank you father." I kissed his Cheek and ran out the door. Going straight for the table where four books lied. They were the romance novels Kate had told me about. Kate was a good friend of mine she lived here in London with her parents and sisters.

I took my books and went to my favorite sitting area. This room was a bit more private compared to the rest in this house it was hidden in a corner to small to hold a dinner party but large enough to house my brothers and I and a few friends. We mostly like to enjoy our evenings in here playing cards or playing around away from our parents. John keeps a good size amount of port in this room. At first glance it looks like nothing special but as I look closer I could see the dent where Joseph hit his head on the wall or the chipped leg of the sofa where George hit it with a cricket ball. So many memories in this one room of my brothers and I being just siblings. I sat down by the window and began to read. I was to into the book that lunch came and left and didn't realize till my brothers walked in with Cousin Mark.

"Hello Alice!" Mark almost screamed

"Mark!" We hugged

"I was sorry to hear about Mr. Anderson."

"Oh it's alright" I shrugged my shoulders. I noticed my brothers passing glances to one another.

"It is better that way. He has made a scandal of himself. I heard he was caught in a room with a young women here in London and they'd hope to keep it quiet, but there is no secrets in London. That is why we went with your family since she was engaged to another. But the Groom was notified and she had no choice. Anderson had to marry her or her brother would have killed him. He wasn't good enough anyway. Always hiding behind doors kissing women and proper women. " Mark said.
