"Good Morning Miss Alice."

"Good morning to you Margret. How are you doing this fine morning."

"Just great thank you. But the cook told me that your mother is having a lunch party today."

"Great" I said sarcastically. Margret laughed a bit knowing me to well that I hated mother lunch parties there was always women who wanted to talk about others and speak about there accomplishments. After Margret helped me dress I ate my breakfast in my room then down to my sitting room and read for a bit.

"Oh here you are Alice our guest will be arriving soon come. I guess that dress will do." She walked out of the room and I followed putting my book down on the seat and leaving it for later. My mother was a Beauty. Tall graceful blond hair that was pinned just right. Perfect porcelain skin. I was not in the perfect image of my mother and I think she hated that for I had the same face as my late aunt who my father adored so she could not talk about my looks without upsetting my father. It had cause to many fights amongst my parents.

Finally we got to the Green sitting room where tea and biscuits and different types of desserts were all done about the room.

First to show was of course my aunt Amelia Rosbend and her daughter Rose who was a young girl of ten and three years old. They had mother blond hair and green eyes.

"My my Rose you are looking more beautiful everyday." She is a beautiful girl looking more and more like her mother.

"Thank you Aunt Mary" she and her mother wore matching blue dresses. For I could not think of a single reason why. But my aunt was a bit odd that way. Last year they were known to order same dozen dresses.

Our next guests to walk in is Mrs. Anna Johnson and her daughter Martha. Once upon a different time Martha and I were friends. That is until she came out three years ago and ignored the rest of us as if she were to good to be seen with us. Our friendship did not recover after that. They both had the same shade of darker blond with brown eyes.

Next walked a women I didn't know and a young daughter. Both had very light brown hair and brown eyes.

"Mrs Taylor my I introduce you my daughter Alice." My mother said to them

"Hello Lady Cores miss Alice this is my daughter Rebecca."

"It is a pleasure to meet you both. Will you excuse me." I said as the nodded there heads and I walked over to the Entrance of the room because my good friend walked in with her family.

"Lavinia!" I said a bit to loudly mother will scold me later about it.

"Alice it is so good to see you." She said hugging me back.

"Mrs Edwards it is lovely to see you as well." I hugged her mother.

"And you as well darling" she hugged me back all of them looked identical to their mother with their light brown hair and blue eyes. Lydia is the oldest at 21 and Lavinia the same age as me 19. And their youngest sister Letitia who was 16. Still not out yet but maybe next year her mother has mentioned. I walked in with them and once again stood next to my mother. Last to enter was Mrs Morgan and daughters mercy and Kate who was another of my good friends.

Soon the room was full of noise of talking and eating and sipping on tea. I found myself in a corner with Lavinia and Kate. Talking about what we had missed the last few months. And I had just finished all-insider  about my failed love attempt with Mr. Anderson.

"Well then he is no gentleman to lead you on that way." Lavinia said

"I agree it is just cruel to lead someone's heart that way." Kate added

"I know my Cousin said that there might have been a scandal involved but there trying to keep it quiet."

"What do you mean?" Lavinia asked

"Well she was engaged to another and that was in secret but she was fulling with Anderson behind close doors. " I answered

"Well how ridiculous!" Kate said.

"It is indeed. Kate how are you sisters wedding arrangements going?" Lavinia asked her.

"Quit poorly to be honest everyday there is something that goes wrong or she just hates everything and wants all new things. I know it's going to be a big wedding and honestly I just want it over with." Kate said

"That must be upsetting the whole family." I said

"Oh yes father leaves any chance he gets. He will be going to Cambridge in a day or two and I have begged him to let me come so I'll be leaving and hopefully we'll be gone for a few days."

"That will be fun I hope you have fun." Lavinia said. "Oh have you ladies heard that the Duke is back in London?"

"I heard he and his brother are back, and staying." Kate mentions

"Yes for some reason my mother is very upset about it but my brother says they are looking for wives." I said

"I bet Martha is doing all she can to get the Dukes attention." Lavinia said and we all turned to look her. And that was probably the reason my mother was so upset. My mother was very competitive. There has to be talk about the Duke and a young lady.

"And you Lavinia have you set your eyes on anyone?" I asked

"There might be a Mr. Jefferson that I am spending much time with, but I am uncertain on his feelings of me. "

"What is he like?" Kate asked

"Well he is soft spoken very sweet. He is often reading and talking about everything he reads. He is a very smart man. I'm believe I have fallen for him."

"Well then congratulations. He sounds perfect. Exact opposite then you." I said and we all laughed. I was known to be outspoken but Lavinia in our group was the first to get into trouble.

"Should we walk down to the Gardens?" I asked. We and a few of the younger girls came with us talking about nonsense and when they will be present into society and what not. Over all the day was going fine till Martha showed and started talking about the Duke and how her family is having dinner at his home this evening and she has him wrapped around her finger. The young girls were so impressed but Kate, Lavinia and I know better then to believe her.
