Chapter 17

The next day I felt light as air. Feeling a bit happy. Margret helped me into a simple red day gown. I didn't usually wear red I felt as thou the color belonged to the Christmas holiday.

After I was ready I made my way down stairs to find my mother admiring a beautiful arrangement of flowers.

"Those are beautiful mother, who are they from?" I asked

"Oh dear they are from Ezra to me, aren't they just lovely? Those are to you." She pointed to a smaller arrangement near the door. It was beautiful and simple with lots of green leaves and small flowers simple. There was also a small box next to them. There was a note on the front.

I opened the box to find white gloves with green embroidered green pattern to them. They were quite elegant.

I took the box and put them to in my room. They were very special to me even if Ezra and I would not be married I would cherish these gloves for the remainder of my life.

As I made my way back down stairs I heard voices from the green sitting room. I found Mr. Daniels, and Lord Hallstone. Who I had not seen since I was a girl. He had married a few years ago but his wife had pasted just a few months ago.

"Gentleman,?" I walked in the room to find them and only them sitting in the room.

"Miss Alice" mr. Daniels spoke but they both stood

"I am sorry are you here to talk to my father, or my brothers?" I asked

"None, actually we are here to see you." Lord Hallstone said

"Oh, well if you permit me I will go seek a chaperone."

"Of course" they both said at the same time.

I walked away from the room not planning on coming back. I went to my sitting room and found my brothers there.

"So are we all hiding in here than?" I asked

"It seems that way" Joseph said looking around the room like if he was realizing that we were all here.

"Well then would you lot like to join me for lunch at the park? Lavinia is planning a picnic, and if I know her as well as I do I most certain that there will be to much food for just the three of us ladies."

"I would like to join." George said

"All right but we have to leave soon." I said as I took a biscuit from the tray and walked out of the room to go get my hat and gloves. But before I could do that I need to get the couch and so I found Matthew.

"Matthew could you call for the Couch and if you could get them to pick us up from the side door by the kitchen?" I knew the gentleman were still here and I did not want to run into them on my way out.

"Yes Alice." He all knowing didn't question the odd request most likely all ready knowing the reason.

"Thank you" I walked away.

I grabbed everything I needed and met George at the bottom of the stairs and he followed me to the kitchen were we walked out from the back door to find the couch waiting for us. Then we were off to the park.

"We would like to dropped off at the entrance of the park please." I let the foot man know.

"Why the entrence?" George asked
