"(Y/N), honey, wake up."

I let out a groan and rolled to my side, trying to get away from the one waking me up. I know from the voice that it's my mother. It's summer break so I don't understand why she's waking me up so early in the morning. Also I had a hard time sleeping last night so I still haven't had enough sleep yet. It's just that I can't stop thinking about what happened the whole day, yesterday, and just kept on playing with the necklace around my neck.

"Honey, wake up." She said again, this time she hop on my bed and kept shaking me. I let out another groan but this time I opened my eyes and glared at her with still half asleep eyes.

"What is it?" I asked her, a little annoyed but still made sure to be polite. She let out a sigh of relief and then proceed to get off of my bed.

I turned my body to her direction and let out a yawn as I wait for her to speak. "Do you wanna go to Milan?" She asked me with an excited smile on her lips.

"Milan?" I asked her with furrowed eyebrows.

I just woke up and all of a sudden she's asking me to go to Milan? That's like on a whole different continent. She nod her head and then went to sit on my bed.

"Your father and I volunteered for a three days medical mission there and I figured we can bring you with us, what do you think?" She said, excitement overflowing from her voice.

I shifted on my bed, sitting up, and then proceed to run my fingers through my untamed hair. I used my other hand to rub on my still droopy eyes. I am still so sleepy I can't think straight.

"We are going to Milan? When?" I asked her through furrowed eyebrows.

"Yes we are, and we're leaving today honey." She told me. My eyes widen in surprise. Slowly and slowly everything is sinking in my head. We are going to Milan now, and I just found out about it now too.

"What? Now?" I asked her, my face scrunching up from all the surprise she's just dropping.

"I told you you don't have to force her, she can decide on her own whether she goes with us or not." My father suddenly appeared by my door while he fixes the sleeve of his suit.

"What? So you want me to leave our daughter alone here for three days?" Mom turned to him. "All on her own?" She added. Uh, I actually survived a week without seeing them multiple times already before. I wanted to say that but I decided to just shut my mouth.
