The Three Broomsticks was filled with students. Conversation filled every corner of the room, as did the clinking of glasses and the crackle of the fire. It was warm and crowded, but didn't seem overdone. They waited at the door for a moment when a very pretty girl who could hardly be much older than them greeted them. She had thick, dirty blonde hair that fell around her shoulders in a messy nest of tight curls. She peered at them through murky green eyes.

'Table for...' her eyes scanned over them, 'Six?'

'That's right, love,' Sirius pushed his way to the front and flashed a dazzling smile, 'Lovely to see you again, Rosmerta.'

Rosmerta smiled at the floor before looking up into his grey eyes and rolling hers, 'You too, Sirius. There's a booth in the corner.'

'Thank you, my dear.'

They all went and sat in the booth, Rosmerta brought around six butterbeers in minutes.

'What's this?' Y/N asked, looking at the frothing glass.

'ARe you- Are you joshing? You have to be joking. You've never had butterbeer??' Peter said, incredulously.

She shrugged, 'Nup, we didn't really do hot drinks in Sna- School.'

'Try it.' Sirius said.

Y/N lifted the warm pint to her lips and drank a little. It was sweet, and warm, reminiscent of autumn leaves and spiced pie, orange flannel and sweet smoke. It filled every inch of her with warmth.

'It's nice.' was all she managed to say.

Sirius looked down at the table and smiled.

Rosmerta came back a moment later to take their order.

'I'll have the chicken parmigiano.' Sirius said.

Y/N snorted and the whole table looked at her.

'Something funny, Y/L/N?' Sirius asked.

'I mean... Restaurant in an all magic village and they serve parmas?' she laughed but there was silence, 'Um... I'll have... Pizza?'

'We don't sell that here.' Rosmerta said bluntly.

'You don't sell pizza?? What in the supermarket cafeteria type shi-'

'She'll share the parma.' Sirius jumped in.

Rosmerta nodded and let the others order before she turned and left, her blonde curls bouncing behind her back.

'They don't sell pizza? No, that's too weird.' Y/N shook her head.

Sirius grinned, 'You're the only person I've ever met who has complained about the Three Broomsticks.'

'No no, it's lovely, I just mean... Pizza is a-'

The door opened and a loud group of people walked in. Thomas, Jasper and the rest of their friends sat down by a table right next to theirs. Donna nudged her in the ribs.

'Ouch, Donna what the hell!' she hissed.

Donna smirked and whispered back, 'Talk to him.'

'No.'

'Yes.'

'No.'

'You're going to lose the bet.'

This sparked something in her. Maybe she was just over competitive, or maybe she really did want to talk to Thomas, but either way, she wasn't going to lose the bet. She got up and went to get a jug of water bringing it back to the table, passing Thomas' on the way.
