No. They couldn't be here. Not now, not already? She wasn't ready yet. It didn't matter, ready or not, they were here. Two of them. Their black capes billowed in the wind as the Gryffindors huddled around the window.
'Somebody get Professor Dumbledore, though I assume he already knows. I want everyone out of their dorms and in the common room right now just in case, I don't want anyone being sent into a panic but they ought to know what's happening.' Mary instructed.
Being entirely truthful, Y/N had never been quite sure as to why Mary had been sorted into Gryffindor, she had certainly seemed more kind and just than anything else, yet in this moment it made perfect sense.
The people in the room nodded.
'We'll go find Dumbledore.' James nodded, he and Sirius leaving the room.
Y/N turned to the remainders of the group, watching as Alice ran to wake up the girls who were in their rooms and Frank, the boys.
'Does anyone know who they are?' a fourth year boy asked.
Y/N pushed her way to the front, 'Let me see.'
The night was clear, had the circumstances not been so serious Y/N would have enjoyed the view, Orion twinkling, Betelgeuse blinking every so slightly and Sirius brighter than it had been in months, however the circumstances were serious and she was not enjoying it at all. The figures were small, yet even from up here Y/N could see the broad shape and curly black hair of her ex-torturer Asher Dolohov. Whom she hated more than even Enoch Wilkes.
'Asher bloody Dolohov.' she growled.
'Do you know him? Peter asked, running his hands through his dirty blonde hair.
'Do I ever.' she muttered, scowling.
'Y/N, what's wrong.' Peter asked, concerned, his sharp jawline flexing as he ground his teeth.
'Asher Dolohov is ruthless. He shows no mercy, he enjoys seeing others in pain. Asher's bad news I just don't know how he found me.'
'Found you?' Peter asked.
A louder crash ensued and Y/N's eyes flew straight back to where Dolohov and his partner had been. The door to the Great Hall was open, rain from outside pouring in, the corner of the Death Eaters capes whipping around the corner. If Dumbledore hadn't known he certainly did now. That didn't mean everyone did though; a loud scream pierced their ears.
'We're going into lockdown, NOW.' Mary yelled.
The blinds were shut and the lights turned off. There was another bang from downstairs. The students were either too frightened or too focused to speak.
Y/N blindly walked towards the portrait hole and slipped out with anyone noticing. She knew the rest of the house would follow soon enough, once the younger years were safely in the dormitory, but for now the halls were quiet but for the sound of distress from the Great Hall. Y/N slipped off her shoes and creeped down the stairwell.
'Y/N.' someone hissed.
She whipped around.
Peter's lean figure stood at the top of the stairs. He quickly made his way down the stairs.
'What are you doing?' he said through gritted teeth, 'You've hurt your ankle, it's not safe for you.'
'I'm flattered, Peter, really, but I'm fine, I've got to find James and Sirius and make sure they, and everyone else are okay.' Y/N said, not stopping to talk to him.
'We do. You're not going without me.' Peter said.
Huh, another person clearing up their questionable sorting.
