Cold, calculating eyes flicked towards her as Dolohov looked up.

'Well, if it isn't the lady of the hour.' he said.

'You flatter me.' Y/N humoured.

'Red and gold looks good on you.'

'Being a psychotic prick who kisses the feet of a man with no nose looks good on you.'

'I see you've kept your quick tongue.'

'I see you've kept your love of holding innocent students hostage. Let her go.' Y/N growled, pleasantries over.

'Oh of course! But first, I'm going to need you to come with me.'

'Not a chance.' Sirius spat.

'I don't remember asking you.' Asher flicked his wand and Sirius keeled over.

Fury and heat flooded Y/N as she shot a curse at Dolohov who deflected it.

'Oh please, is that all you've got?'

Y/N raised her wand, the palms of her hands hot.

'Confringo!'

A jet of light from the end of Y/N's wand blew up the candelabra above Asher's head, the explosion causing him to stumble backwards, the student's arm still in the harsh grip of his hand.

He looked up Y/N grinning, 'Missed me.'

'Did I?' she returned, playfully.

The spell hit Dolohov straight in the back, Sirius' wand still raised as Asher stood there, stunned. His friend grabbed the first year, still wandless, yet gripping her wrist tightly, with his hulking, strong frame, a wand was the last thing he needed. Dolohov's fingers began to twitch as he gained consciousness, the effects of the stunning spell wearing off. It happened quickly, Y/N fell forward as the curse hit her, ramming straight into Macnair, her hands raised. He screeched in pain as red hot burns plagued his skin, his blurred vision leaving him unaware of James' quick retrieval of the girl. Y/N scrambled up from the floor, the blindfold cursed around her eyes tight, everything she touched seared with a heat that sent one of the benches in flames as she tripped and fell once more.

'What's happening!' Sirius yelled over the ruckus.

Concerned, James shook his head.

Dolohov was on his feet now, though Macnair was still wailing. He laughed at Y/N, not seeming confused like the rest of them.

'Some things never change Y/L/N.' He cackled.

Sirius and James had the girl, it was time to leave.

The doors to the Great Hall banged open as a flurry of teachers, led by McGonagall, flooded in, wands raised. Sirius ran to Y/N, putting his arms around her waist as he dragged her up from the ground, before running to the other first year and pulling him away from the danger. The death eater fired spells at the teachers as the flames heightened, yet as Asher weighed his options (he and his injured counterpart versus a group of seven highly trained witches and wizards), he fled. Grabbing Macnair by the arm and throwing one last scathing glare at Y/N, they were gone, the shield he had conjured around them both disappearing with their cloaks and footsteps.

McGonagall cursed, five of the teachers tearing after them.

'They will have apparated by now.' she growled.

'Out of my way!' Madam Pomfrey ordered shrilly as she ran into the room. She ran to Dumbledore's side and set him up, putting a potion down his throat and whispering a charm.

'Who here is injured?' she snapped.

James pushed the first year forward as Minnie took the blindfold off Y/N, her hands still too hot to do it herself. Tears filled Y/N's eyes as she gasped, aware of the destruction she had caused. She looked around in distress trying to find Sirius through the groups of students flooding the hall to see what the commotion was about. McGonagall amplified her voice and ordered everyone back to their dormitories. Y/N was pulled through the sea of students still searching for her friends to no avail.
