'Can you hurry up?? It HURTS.'
He shifted the positions of his hands and finally got her hand free of the toaster that was crushing it.
'You twat!' she hissed, shaking her bruised hand, 'If I can't hold my bat anymore and we lose the season, it'll be your fault.'
'I'm sorry, how was I meant to know that a. You would go to turn on the light at that point or b. The toaster would be so damn heavy.'
'You suck. Let's get the shit and get out of here.' Y/N grumbled, rubbing at her hand.
She turned to the dark kitchen, 'Lumos.'
Y/N was met by a hundred wide, watery eyes. She yelped and latched onto Sirius' arm but quickly let go.
'Students!' one of the creatures said.
She walked closer and realised they were nothing but house elves. She let out a breath she didn't know she'd been holding.
'Hi!' she said cheerfully.
They blinked.
'We're just gonna, uh, take some food for... um educational reasons.'
'A party?' one of the elves said.
'A party? Us? No! We would never steal- uh, borrow, food for something as lame as a party.'
'Shut up,' Sirius whispered before stepping forward.
'Well hey there Crickets, looking marvellous as always,' Sirius winked, patting the elf on the shoulders, she blushed, 'Yes we're having a party, that's only because we won the first Quidditch match of the season!'
The elves chorused congratulations and cheered.
'Excellent job, Mr. Black!' Crickets said, happily.
'Nuh uh,' Sirius wagged his finger, 'It's Sirius, remember?'
'Sorry, Mr. Bla- Sirius.' she smiled, 'But please, Cricket has just made lots of pastries, take them.'
'Oh, no we couldn't.' Y/N shook her head.
Sirius elbowed her in the ribs.
'If it's no bother, Crickets.' Sirius said, charmingly.
'Bother? Crickets is never bothered by Mr. Sirius' company.' Crickets rushed, blushing.
Y/N rolled her eyes. Even house elves flung themselves at Sirius.
'You're awfully kind.' Sirius smiled warmly, his grey eyes sparkling, 'I'll make sure to visit you all again soon.'
He took hold of the trolley covered in all sorts of foods both sweet and savoury and left the kitchen but not before he and Y/N both grabbed a bottle of the nearest alcohol they could find on their way out (PSA: UNDERAGE DRINKING IS NOT COOL BABES XX).
'Do you not feel bad about stealing their food?' Y/N asked Sirius.
'Feel bad? No of course not, they live to serve and they love to give food to the students.'
'I would hate that. My whole life's purpose to serve? No thankyou.'
'They enjoy it, I guess.' Sirius shrugged and stopped short quickly, Y/N almost running into him, 'Hear that?'
There was the distinct sound of chatter coming from the end of the hall, the click of shoes on the floor and rattling breath.
Sirius swore.
