'What took you so long?' James yelled over the loud music that boomed through the speakers, 'Never mind, do you have the stuff?'

Y/N and Sirius held up the bottles and a cheer chorused through the common room.

'Great! The Prewetts weren't able to get any when they went down earlier. Come on.' James grabbed their wrists and dragged them into the middle of the room, leaving, as Sirius popped the cork off the bottle and took a large swig where he was met by cheers. He passed the bottle to Y/N who did the same. She gritted her teeth, whatever this was, it was strong. The bottle was swiped from her hands and moved from person to person.

'WHAT?' Y/N yelled over the music, missing what Sirius said.

'IS YOUR ANKLE OKAY?' he yelled back.

Y/N did a neat pirouette, her ankle felt fine. Okay, it ached a little, she wasn't a stranger to pain and this was nothing if not irritating.

'It's fine!' she shouted into his ear.

He gave her an unsure thumbs up but closed proximity between them so they could hear each other.

'Do you wanna dan-' Sirius started but was interrupted when Thomas came up to them.

'Y/N!' he yelled, the music deafening, 'Dance with me?'

'Okay!' she shouted, smiling as she waved bye to Sirius who stood there scowling at Thomas. He rolled his eyes, grabbed the bottle from the nearest person who had it and went to find James while taking a long drink.

'JAMES!'

'SIRIUS!'

The boys said excitedly as if they hadn't seen each other just five minutes ago.

'WHERE'S MOONY?' Sirius barked.

'OVER THERE.' James pointed to a corner of the room, smirking, while Remus stood awkwardly scratching his neck as two girls chatted him up. How was Remus getting more attention than him? He was jealous and the sight of these two girls flirting with Moony really bothered him, though he did suppose he should save him from them. He walked over to them and leaned against the wall.

'Hey.'

The girls immediately turned to him.

'Hey.' one replied, batting her lashes. It was almost not fun because of how easy it was.

'Do you want to dance?' he asked one of the girls.

She flashed him a pretty smile, 'Of course.'

He took her arm and pulled her into the crowd, Remus smiling gratefully.

'What's your name!' she yelled at him, her blonde ponytail falling out as they danced.

'Sirius!'

He didn't bother asking for hers, he probably wouldn't remember it tomorrow.

'What's your na-'

He grabbed her hand and twirled her. She moved closer to him, her breath soft on his neck.

'Can I?'

He nodded, the alcohol messing with his head.

He felt the girl's cool lips press against his and work their way down to his neck. He tilted his neck back, his hands consensually on her hips as they moved together. Sirius' grey eyes searched the room, landing on Remus who was blushing as Finn Colendo from the quidditch team chatted him up. He felt an unusual rage boil in him. Why did it bother him so much? Seeing Remus flirting with someone?
