The sun was already setting by the time they've reached the hill and Jennie found her breath get stuck at the sight in front of her. She had wondered why she had to wait in the car for so long, now understanding what Lisa had done up here for so long.
Pillows in every size imaginable were scattered across a huge blanket, or maybe even a couple of blankets, Jennie couldn't tell. Red candles and tea lights surrounded the makeshift bed, although not yet lit and a cooler with snacks and drink stood on the left side, next to a small tower of stacked CD cases.
A smile tugged at her lips and she gladly let Lisa lead her over, crouching down and sinking into the soft cushions. Immediately after she got comfortable, Lisa threw a red blanket over her legs, careful to cover every part of her lower half. Those green eyes Jennie loved so much never met her brown ones, instead restlessly flickered over everything around her before she bit her lip and took a seat next to her.
"I thought we could... watch the sunset because in movies, everybody seems to love those," she spoke up for the first time since they got up on the hill and finally turned to meet Jennie's eyes, frowning. "I have wine, but I wasn't sure if you could drink it because of the meds you're taking so I've also brought other stuff. We have... water and sodas and also something to eat of cour–"
"Lisa?"
"Yeah?"
"What's in there?" Lisa followed her finger that pointed to a big black duffle bag. She reached over and quickly unzipped it, an old CD-player appearing. "I burrowed this from Jinu and... a couple of CD's too. I thought... it would be a little nicer than an Mp3 player or iPhone or something. But if you want to listen to your own music or no music at all then just–"
Jennie's laugh interrupter her and made Lisa completely freeze. "Why are you so nervous? It's just me and you here."
"Exactly."
Jennie smiled when Lisa turned away in an attempt to hide the blush adorning her cheeks. Gentle fingers ran down Lisa's back and made the pale woman hesitantly glanced back at Jennie. She groaned and let her head fall into her hands. "I'm sorry. I don't think I've ever been so nervous in my entire life."
An adoring smile formed on Jennie's lips, her hand sliding across Lisa's back, her ribs, until her arm fully wrapped around the taller woman's middle and her chin came to rest on her shoulder. "Don't be nervous. It's beautiful. Thank you for doing this for me."
Lisa coughed and slowly lifted her head from her hands, frown still in place despite Jennie's comforting words. When she craned her neck back to look at the brunette woman, Jennie lifted her head from Lisa's shoulder and tilted to the side as Lisa said, "If you hate it, say it. I just didn't know what to do for our first date since... I wanted to make it special and romantic but I just don't know how to do romantic so... I chose to do probably one of the most clichéd things. Watching the sunset."
It still amazed Jennie, even after knowing Lisa for almost two years now and having seen many facets of the young woman, good and bad, how fast her moods and emotions were able to switch. She had gotten across so confident and flirty when she stood in front of Jennie's door earlier that evening and now she was... so unsure of herself and ridiculously nervous.
"I don't hate it," Jennie softly told her and watched as the frown on Lisa's face slightly lessened, "Just relax and don't worry about anything."
Lisa sighed before leaning forward, hand finding Jennie's cheek as her lips captured the feline eyed woman's in a long kiss. They parted with a slight smacking noise but instead of pulling away, Lisa kept her hand on Jennie's cheek and rested her forehead against hers. "I love kissing you," she randomly muttered before she slowly placed another kiss, this time nothing more than a brief peck, against Jennie's smiling mouth. "Your lips are so... nice."
