Chapter 20
Just what the hell, right?
She made him feel like he wasn't there. Fuck.
He was silent. We weren't even holding our hands.
"Sorry," I whispered when we're both in the car. "Sorry about what she did, I didn't know..." I'm literally out of words.
"It wasn't your fault that your mother doesn't like me for you." he said after the long silence.
"She doesn't?" tanong ko pabalik.
"She clearly doesn't, Nat. Almost 2 years, but— nevermind." sabi niya na hindi man lang talaga ako tinignan.
Ano ba talaga? My mother is confusing me. A while ago, she acted like she wanted Lucas to leave. Why would she do that to my boyfriend?
She didn't act strange towards my sister's boyfriend?
"I don't get all these..." I mumbled, looking down. I was fidgeting with my hands because I'm nervous. I don't even know why I am nervous. "I felt like everything changed. What happened?" I voiced out my thoughts.
"You're from a rich family," he said out of nowhere.
Confusion filled me just because of that statement of his. "How is that connected to what we are talking about now?" I questioned. I'm desperate for an answer.
