Chapter 10
I sat tiredly on top of my bed after Kent dropped me off. I was really worried that my parents would freak about how long I've been gone. But fortunately, they weren't even home yet.
Plus, I'm surprised I hadn't ran into Egan yet. I mean, it's only been a few hours since I knew the whole angel secret and I should be glad I haven't ran into the guy, but still. What if I run into a stranger in the streets and find out it was Egan? What could I do then? Nothing!
And I was meaning to ask Jake what had happened back there with Egan. Note to self: Try to remember to ask Jake that.
I fell back on my bed with a sigh. This is all just annoying!
"Hales!"
I shot up from my bed at the sound of the familiar muffled voice. My eyes darted around the room, making sure it wasn't my imagination. No one was there. "Jake?" I whispered, then cursed myself for talking to nothing.
"Hales!" I heard his voice again.
I turned to the window. Okay. I heard it there this time. Jumping off my bed, I hurried to my window and slid it open to find Jake dangling from the sill. "Jake? Get down before you get yourself killed, you idiot!" I hissed at him, trying not to alarm the neighbors. With Jake climbing up the side of my house in broad daylight, he looks like a freaking theif!
"No, I won't. It's completely-" He let out a gasp when his foot fell of a piece of brick. I grabbed ahold of his arm before he crashed to the ground. With a yank, I hauled him into my room and he landed hard on top of me. Wow, he's heavy. "I guess that wasn't so safe. Thanks Hales."
"Jake...can't...breath...you...fat...goof!" I gasped out, trying to shove him off of me.
He jumped to his feet within second and helped me up as well. "Sorry bout that." He smiled sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.
"No problem." I smiled back. "So what brings you to my humble abode?"
"I can't come visit my girlfriend?" He asked, taking a seat on my bed.
"No."
"What?"
"I'm just kidding." I laughed and took a seat on his lap, wrapping my arms around his neck. "Of course you can. But you do know it's early in the morning, right? And I just got back and I'm really sleepy. All that angel stuff is really tiring."
"Yeah, I guess so." He sighed, resting his head on my tits for a moment. I grinned remembering I still had on my tanktop from when I was in karate class.
"Comfortable there, bud?" I asked in amusement, raising an eyebrow.
"Very." I could feel him smile against my skin.
"Loser." I picked his head up from my cleavage and pecked him on the lips.
Pulling away, I smiled awkwardly. His kisses didn't even feel right anymore since I kissed... Maybe now was the right moment to tell him what I did. That me and Caden kissed. I mean, it was just a kiss and nothing else, right? Right? "Hey Jake, I-" I groaned when I heard the doorbell suddenly ring from downstairs. Way to ruin the moment.
