19 - the blue lake

OLIVIA'S POV:

New day, new opportunities, that's what I kept telling myself.
What did I expect? that I could be dating Valerio? what a joke.

It was morning and me and Nina were sitting in a private room at a breakfast table.
It was filled with sandwiches, tarts, fruit. Plenty to choose from but I wasn't hungry.

The glasses were gold and the windows in the room were large so you could look out well, the sun was shining.
The seats were very large and made of a thick fabric which made it even more comfortable.

"Would you like to train with me this afternoon?" Nina said, stuffing a piece of fruit into her mouth.

Maybe I just needed a little distraction from that whole Jane situation?
''Sure, when?'' I placed the gold glass against my lips and took a sip of the strawberry juice it contained.

'' ehmm 3 o'clock ? ''

I nodded '' Yeah that's fine , Other question can we chill at the bar tonight? I can totally use a drink'' I laughed and put the now empty glass back on the table.

''And this is exactly why we are friends, yes of course we're going to the bar tonight'' She assured me with a smile.
Nina continued eating and I looked around, the door here was made of glass and I saw many people walking by.

The door opened and my heart stopped at the sight of who walked in.
Valerio

His moss green eyes made eye contact with me. He wore black pants with a white shirt and a black leather jacket over it, as if he had come from somewhere. Perhaps it was , in any case the look in his eyes was irritated .

''Do you need something?'' Nina said with an irritated tone, oh yes that's true I had completely forgotten that the two of them were still mad at each other.

He stood wide and tall and rolled his eyes. "Yes, I do, Olivia?" His eyes fell back to mine.

I looked up, surprised at what he wanted. "What?"

"Can you talk for a minute?" He pointed to the door.

I leaned back in the chair not moving and gave him a bitch face. ''How about no?''

My answer to his question only made him more irritated, but I didn't really care.
He sighed deeply before speaking ''Listen I'm not in the mood so if you don't get up from that chair in 10 seconds I'll lift you myself and I'm not fucking kidding'' His eyebrows were set down and he meant what he said and I knew he would actually pick me up if I didn't walk with him.

I got up and fixed my hair '' Okay fine '' I throw a look at nina who already looked at me surprised . I don't blame her, I didn't even tell her what was going on.

He held the door open for me and walked behind me, he towered over me .
"Where do you want to go then?" I asked him.

His once so serious look on his face softened now. ''Follow me I know a spot'' he led the way and escorted me out of the Motel.
Right into the woods. We kept walking , in silence . I didn't want to look at him, let alone talk to him.

Minutes passed and leaves I walked on creaked under my shoes.
''Look if you're going to kill me in the woods and give my body to the wolves then do it here, I'm done walking''

He turned around and smiled at me and took a step closer.
''If I wanted to kill you I would have done it already princess, follow me it's very close by '' .

I hobbled after him . I listened to the sound of the forest as I walked on, birds making noises, wind blowing under the trees, and the sound of water rushing. Wait water.....?

''We're here'' He pointed straight through the bushes, and I saw a large beautiful blue lake.

But really very beautiful, my mouth fell open and I almost lost my breath. It was breathtaking, the blue water moving calmly, the sun shining and the green trees and mountains around it. Everything was right except to be here with Valerio but I forget that for a few seconds.

"Beautiful isn't it?" His eyes made eye contact with mine and we placed side by side on the floor.
The sun shone on his skin, making him look like gold.

I looked back at him ''I didn't expect a mafia boss to love nature''

" I'm full of surprises , why didn't you come to the balcony?" he asked me slowly

Sudden anger and sadness resurfaced.
''I did came to the balcony'' I looked straight at him and showed him that he had hurt me.
"But you were too busy shoving your tongue into Jane's mouth." I tilted my head as I spoke, and I saw his eyes turn into a caught expression.

''I - listen -''

I closed my eyes to control my anger.
'' No you listen, I'm not a toy or something ''

He gave me a confused look and his eyebrows were tight to his eyes.
I am not a second choice and regret that I even got to know him.
''Toy? what do you mean?''

I didn't want to look at him anymore, he doesn't even know what he's done.
I stared straight ahead at the calm calm waters of the lake.

A silence fell

'' You know , after you told me that you wanted me I went to the balcony in a good mood ''
I squeezed the leaves that I plucked from the ground in my hand , it cracked.
''But when I arrived you were with someone else, I didn't want to listen to your conversation but I'm glad I did''

My eyes looked back to his
''Because now I finally see what a jerk you are'' I spoke in a cold tone .

Disappointment fell in his eyes and he was now staring at the ground.
''You're not a toy you know''

''Well apparently I am because we had sex and you kiss her so I really don't mean that much''.

I got up quickly and wanted to run away as quickly as possible. his hand stopped me.

Tears slowly filled my eyes.
'' Let me go! I'm not your sex buddy okay?"
Pain hit my voice and I realized I seemed weak to him.
'' I want nothing to do with you ! not now not ever''

I pointed my finger at him.
''After we complete our deal, I'm going to leave and I'm not coming back'' .

His hand still wouldn't let go.
'' Olivia listen to me the kiss was a mistake and I - ''

I wrenched myself from his grip and took a step back.
" I don't care if it was a mistake or you enjoyed it, I'm done with it."

My anger subsided and I walked away , he remained surprised .

God what a jerk. I knew from the beginning that he was a player and I should never have started it. I rolled my eyes and shook my eyes in disbelief and made my way back to the motel.
