"Mommy, what are you looking?" Aera question woke Rona up from her thoughts. "I'm looking at the big river in front of our house, baby. What made you woke up early today?" Rona picked her up and put her on her lap and slid Aera hairs to the side to see her face clearly.
"I dreamed about daddy..."
That made Rona stopped. Rona looked at her, "Daddy?" Aera nodded her head cutely. "We were having a picnic at some river and you were so happy, mommy." Aera was smiling when she said that. But after, she continued "Where is daddy right now, mommy? Why are you not happy now mommy?" Aera put her cute little hands-on Rona's cheeks, stroking it softly.
Rona didn't know there was tears that are threatening to fall from her eyes but when Aera start stroking her cheeks, the tears fell on its own. Her daughter is missing their father while their father is giving her a hard time after what happened in her office 3 days ago.
3 days ago,
"... it wasn't me who told your mother." Rona said, standing very close to where Seokhoon is standing. Although her heart is beating like crazy at how close they are, she still tried to look tough on the outside. 'Gosh, were you always this handsome before?' Rona silently thought.
Seokhoon was wearing a red wine three-piece suit with a black tie. His hair was perfectly brushed behind half as it slightly shown his forehead. When Seokhoon entered her office earlier, Rona was stunned for a moment at how handsome he was but then she composes herself before the latter notice. No matter how much he hurt her in the past, she still drowning for him. That the only power he holds that can make her melt.
The morning after that 'mistake' night, Rona woke up before Seokhoon did and she wanted to cry for what happened but when she looks at their bodies, it was covered by the duvet. As far she remembers, the both of them was too tired that they sleep right away. That's when she realizes that Seokhoon was awake before her and he was already sober when he woke up.
He could have left when he woke up earlier but he didn't, he sleep and waited for her to go first as a sign that he wants to forget about it when he woke up and seeing her not by his side when actually he remembers the night very clearly.
"That night, tell me. Why didn't you leave when you had the chance to? You could've just leave me there with money to keep my mouth but why, Seokhoon? Why didn't you leave?" Rona looked at him as she saw how Seokhoon eyes soften.
"I was tired that I want to sleep more so I stayed. It didn't mean anything to me when I did it with you. I was just frustrated that night and you happened to appear in front of so I just drag you with since I know how innocent you when we did it." Seokhoon coldly said as his eyes turned cold so fast that the regret eyes earlier were not even there.
A hard slap was thrown to Seokhoon. "Get out of here. I don't want to see your face anymore." Rona said, with a trembling voice. "Do you really think I have feelings for you after what happened? Ha! Dream on, Bae Rona! Cause I will never like a pathetic girl like you." Seokhoon smirked at her.
"GET OUT!!" Rona shouted at the top of her lungs with heavy breath and broken voice due to the tears whelming up her throat.
'I'm sorry, Aera-ya. I don't think you will see nor know your father anymore.' Rona looked at her daughter with a sad smile.
She would never let Seokhoon know about his child and neither do the kids. Just let her and Seokkyung who knows the truth behind it all. It was safer like this that them knowing everything.
5 months later.
It's been 5 months since I heard anything from Seokhoon, even though I could see him in the news almost everyday but if face to face, then no. We completely became a real stranger like we were supposed to be. Sometimes, Seokkyung would only call me instead of coming to my office to avoid being seen spending time around by Seokhoon.
*Ring Ring*
My phone rang, Aunt Suryeon was calling me. "Hello? Auntie, how are you? Why did you call?" Rona answered the call. "Hello, dear. I'm fine, thank you for asking." Aunt Suryeon answered my question before went silent for a moment but then continue her words after a heavy sigh, "Can we meet up today if you're free?" Rona was curious as to why Aunt Suryeon suddenly want to meet up with her if it wasn't something very serious to talk about.
So, she agreed. She dressed herself with a white tee, black jeans, denim jacket and a pair of white chunky heels. Her hair, she put it in a neat half ponytail. "Seokmin! Aera! Mom gonna go out for a bit okay! Nanny Kim will be with you until I come back." Rona shout from the hallway since the kids is playing in their room. She heard them running through the hallway to her. "Drive safely, Mom." Seokmin advise and kisses her mother cheeks while Aera just hug her mother.
"Nanny, take care of the kids okay." Rona smiled at the nanny. "Yes, ma'am. Drive safely, ma'am." The nanny bowed.
With that, Rona makes her way to the meet up location. She's feeling nervous all of sudden. Actually, she shouldn't be but she is nervous about what Aunt Suryeon is going to say. It's been a while since she last saw her too. Rona just hoped that the talk will end with nothing shocking.
