Chapter 17: Why Do You Keep Running ?

Next Morning

Rona was walking through the hallway of the hospital where Seokhoon was admitted. Walking near and near his room, she saw that the nurse was changing the bedsheet of the room. Without further, she asked;

"Excuse me, where is the patient in this room ?"

One of the nurse turned to her and smiled; "Oh, the patient in this room have been discharged last night with a tall man."

Rona was unsurprisingly taken back by the answer, that she blurt out immediately.

"But that's impossible because the doctor said that he was supposed to discharge this morning with me as his legal guardian."

"I can't help you with that, miss. But maybe you could asked the front desk regarding it or help you with it." The nurse apologized, as she looked very apologetic towards Rona, who's practically lost at that time.

As she doesn't want to waste any time, she rushed towards the front desk as what the nurse told her.

As soon as she arrives at the front desk, the nurse or some kind of receptionist smiled at her as she asked; "How may I help you, miss ?"

"I need to see the status log for patient in room 5038! Quick! Right now!" Rona couldn't care less about people in the hospital lobby who's looking at her weirdly like she's a mad woman.

Her one and only priority right now is Joo Seokhoon alone.

"The patient have been discharged at 2300 hour last night, ma'am." The nurse spoke as she is also scared of the woman in front of her.

Rona closed her eyes and pinched her forehead as she is getting a hurtful headache again. She whispers to herself; 'I swear to god, Joo Seokhoon. Don't do this to me again, please. I'm tired of chasing after you the whole time while you run around like a coward.'

She opened her eyes and looked straight into the nurse eyes, making the nurse shiver in fear.

"Who was with him during his discharge and doing all his discharge documents?" There's no more kindness in her voice as she was indeed in a huge mess right now looking for her missing husband.

"A tall man who claims himself as his secretary." The nurse answered as Rona nodded and turn around, about to walk away when the nurse suddenly had the courage to call her back.

"The patient left this for you." A big envelope along with a smaller one was given to Rona, bringing her much more confusion and headache as she already have right now.

"He left this ?" Rona asking for confirmation as the nurse nodded.

"He asked me to give it to the first person who'll asked anything regarding him and turns out it was you. So, here you go." The nurse put the envelopes in Rona grips as she encourage herself to give Rona a small smile despite her trembling self.

Rona thanked the nurse and walked to the parking lot where she parked her car at. As she went in to her car, she's thinking very hard whether to open the envelopes or not.

Doesn't she expect something good will come out instead of something bad ? Well, yes. She wants it to be a good news but at the same time, she doesn't think that it will be a good news with Seokhoon went missing right now.

"What are you thinking right now, Joo Seokhoon ?" She whisper to herself.

It took her almost an hour to think positively on the things inside the envelopes but negativity thoughts never left her.

As she took a deep breath, she opens the big envelope first since she's very much expecting the things inside it and as she expected, A Divorce Paper with Seokhoon side already filled.

"Tch, so you have prepared yourself to let me go just like that huh ? After all the things we spend last night ?" Without knowing how many tears that have flow down her faces, Rona continue to scan the whole divorce paper and his handwriting.

"I won't give up on you yet, no. Not right now. I'm gonna wait for you cause I know, you love me too much to let me go just like this. Til' then I won't read the letter you left me."

"I still have my hopes for you, Joo Seokhoon."

2 years later

"Seokmin! Aera! You're gonna be late for your furst day of high school!" Rona shouts as she's busy making the twins their breakfast.

"Coming!" As she heard the twins respond, her lips curved into a bright smile.

As always, the twins brought back her beautiful smile on her lips like always after the event where their father when missing the day when everything is just starting to get right.

"You always left us when we were just starting to be a real family." Rona whispers slowly as she observes the twins who's running down the tall stairs.

"Be careful, you don't want to go to school with a broken leg right ?" She advises the twins as they slow down and sat on the tabletop chair in the kitchen.

"What's for breakfast today, mom ?" Seokmin asked as he is getting excited knowing her mom's cooking is the best he had ever tasted in the whole world.

"French toast with cheese and a little bit of salad for your health. Oh, and also a cup of your favorite chocolate milk." Rona smiled as the twins squealed.

To be honest, the twins favorite food is french toast and vegetarian related kind of food which Rona doesn't know where did that come from.

"Okay, now stop squealing and start eating because you have less than 30 minutes before school starts." With that, the twins no longer waste their time and dig into the breakfast that has been served deliciously in front of them.

"Mom, are you gonna pick us up later at school ?" Aera asked since for the past 2 years, Her mom and her aunt, Seokkyung has been rotate in terms of picking them up at school. Which have become their routine actually.

"No, honey. I have a lot of works to do today since the annual ball of my company is happening next week so I have to go everywhere non-stop." Rona sadly looks at her daughter who's starting to get sad.

But, Rona assured her; "But! Later when Aunt Seokkyung picked both of you up, you'll be going to dress and suit shopping for my annual ball, okay ?" That lit up Aera's face cause she really liked shopping especially with her Aunt Seokkyung while Seokmin doesn't bother at all since he just go with the flow.
