Chapter 10: 5 Years Too Late & After

Rona scoffed, "You? in my family circle?" She turns around. "Who are you to be in my circle of people? Who?!" She shouted in rage. Frighten Seokkyung with her loud voice.

That's the first time. Very first time ever in Seokkyung's life ever since she knows the calm and brave Rona who is now mentally and psychically hurt. Rona have always been Seokkyung's role model. A brave woman who can still stand alone on her own although she's been hurt hundreds of times by the same person.

Rona closes her eyes, take a deep breath and open it, looking straight in the eyes of Seokhoon's. Seokkyung gasp echoed through the empty house while Seokhoon eyes widen at how empty and emotionless Rona eyes is that moment.

"5 years, Seokhoon. You're 5 years too late to be in our family circle."

With that, Rona turns and left the mansion. Didn't even turn to look at her children even when they called for her. She wanted to leave the place. She wants to go far away where there's no Seokhoon in front of her.

She drove her car in fast speed that even red lights can't stop her. She was in her dangerous state and could be facing death anytime on the road if she drove like that.

What she didn't know was, there was a car chasing behind her.

Suddenly when she was speeding and ignoring the red traffic light, a truck was also speeding towards her. She could only look at the truck direction before everything turns black and she was spinning.

'Is this really the end?' she smiled, thinking of something. 'Seokmin-ah, Aera-ya, mommy is sorry. Mommy is sorry because mommy could not be with you now. Mommy is sorry for not telling you who your daddy is when you really need him the most. Seokmin-ah, Aera-ya, both of you were my handsome knight and my beautiful princess. Please be happy with your daddy. I'm sure he could take care of both of you and shower you with so much love like how mommy shower you with love from the day you were born until today where you are already 4 years old turning 5 in few days.' A tear escapes her eyes.

When her car stops rolling and was upside down, she was still unconscious. The door from her side was being forced to open by someone, and it opened. Revealing, Joo Seokhoon, the one and only man who has not given her anything but heartache, stress and tears.

"Bae Rona, don't you dare close your eyes on me. Stay awake. You can survive. Stay with me, Rona. STAY AWAKE!" Seokhoon shout, dragging her out of the car. Lying her on the street with her head on his lap, he placed his hand on her cheeks.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for being a jerk. Please stay with me, please." Seokhoon was apologizing and was crying mess the whole time. Rona for the first smiled at Seokhoon. With trembling hands, she reached for his face.

Gaining her voice, she asked Seokhoon one thing that she'd been asking herself for the past 5 years.

"S-seokhoon-ah, was that night when we did it was really a mistake? I wanted to know the truth behind your action the next morning. The truth about your feelings for me."

Seokhoon was stunned but he answers her question with new tears threatening to fall again.

"No, it wasn't a mistake instead it was a miracle to me. I've finally found my future but I decided to denied it and push away those fact because of my emotions. I love you, Bae Rona. Don't leave me and the kids like this. Please, I need you with me. I need to make up for all the things that I've done to you. Please."

Seokhoon holds her hand which is on his cheeks.

"I-I'm tired, Seokhoon. Let me rest, the kids will finally go to their daddy like they've be wanted since they were 2. I forgive you. Take care of the kids and yourself, my love. My love only amounts to this, but thank you for giving me the best gift ever. Goodbye."

With that, Rona lost conscious and faint into a deep sleep leaving Seokhoon who was screaming as tears didn't stop run down his cheeks. He was a mess in the middle of the road.

No one know what happened after that, no one except the 2 of them. Did Rona survive? Did she die? Will she really leave her family just like that and follow her mother to heaven?

The answer remains unknown. And then, another 5 years have passed again.

"Appa! Good morning!" Both his son and daughter kissed his cheeks, as he was reading a newspaper while drinking his coffee at the kitchen counter top.

"Did my prince and princess sleep well last night?" The person asked, as both of his child nod their happy smiling happily.

"How about you, appa?" Aera asks, as she reach for the toast in front of her. "Of course, I had the best sleep ever." He smiled at the two before continue reading the newspaper.

The breakfast quiet and the twins was eating their breakfast comfortably when suddenly their father asks one question.

"Do you want to visit mommy today with me?"
