Chapter 15: She Knew

"How is he ?" A question was given to the doctor as he came out of the operation room.

"May I know your relationship with the patient ?" The doctor asked since he can't reveal a classified details to strangers.

"I'm his wife, Joo Rona." Rona said, no more hiding the fact that she was indeed still illegally Seokhoon's wife.

"Well then, Mrs. Joo. I hate to say this but since the cut on his arm was deep, he lost a lot of blood but we manage to rescue him before it was too late. But I suggest that he shouldn't used his hands that much for a few months to help it recover as quickly as possible. He'll be transferred to a private room as per request from his family for privacy." The doctor informed Rona what's and what's not that he supposed to do while his hand hasn't healed yet.

"Okay, thank you doctor. Appreciate your help." Rona bowed in advance, thanking the doctor for his hard work.

The doctor bowed and walked away with other doctors and nurses tailing behind.

Rona then proceed to the private room that was assigned for Seokhoon. She held her head high to cover herself from the breakdown she received awhile ago from Seokkyung.

Yes, Seokkyung called her after Seokhoon was chased to hospital. With a background voice of Suryeon's crying, Rona knew everything is totally messed up by now. She knew he would do something like this and she thought that she wouldn't care a little bit about him but she was wrong.

After all he had done to her, he's still the one who her heart beats for. True love was beautiful and her heart speaks louder than her mind.

She hated him for leaving her but she knew he didn't have a choice back then. He knew everything about him. Even when he tried to kill his own children the night when they were just born. She was there to witness it, she saw him that night. Hugging his child, crying as he held the both of them. She knew the reason behind all of his actions.

He didn't want to get hurt anymore.

Neither would she, she didn't asked to be hurt. That night, the night where everything started between them. The night where she became his one night stand. It was a miracle for her.

She didn't fight, she let him do everything he wants because she knows how heart broken he is that night.

What would we called it again ? Stalking ? Yes, stalking is somehow the perfect word that describes Rona that night when Seokhoon got drunk after his break up with his girlfriend.

In fact, she had been following him for the past few days after she accidentally crossed path with him a few days back.

It was destiny. Rona would like to call their encounter as something that is destined to be. She believes in destiny because her and her children was destined to be with their strong father.

As she's near the private room, she saw Seokmin, Aera, Seokkyung and lastly Suryeon outside the private room. Questioning why they were outside instead of going in, she walked to them.

Seokkyung looked up as she heard sounds of footsteps coming near them and she was right. She stand up as Rona stood in front of all of them.

"Why aren't you going in ?" No hello, no mom, no hugging. That was Rona very first question to all of them after a year didn't meet.

"We are not his family to go inside first." Suryeon looked down on her lap as she speak up. Tears still falls down her eyes.

Rona sigh as she kneel down to the same level as Suryeon's.

"All of you are his family. You took care of him and be there for him when he needed all of you the most." Rona holds her mother-in-law hands as it began to tremble really hard from the crying.

"But Rona, I think you should go in first. After all, you're his wife. You have the right to go in first." Seokkyung assured her that they will be fine to wait outside from his room just to give the both husband and wife for their respective privacy.

"Thank you, Seokkyung. Really appreciate it." Rona smiles to her.

Rona was indeed mad at all of them for running away from her, carrying the truth she wants to know behind the rumors a year ago. But she can't help to feel guilty of blaming them when it was not their fault in the first place.

"I'll be back okay, babies." She kisses her children forehead before turning around to go inside the room when a hand stopped her.

Rona turned, "Please tell appa that I love him and don't leave me again." Aera said as tears was evident in her eyes.

Rona covers her mouth. 'She knew, they both knew from the very first day they saw their father.'

"H-how.. how did you both knew about this ?" Rona kneel down again.

"We'll tell you later. Right now, appa needs you, omma. He needs your strength to stay alive for all of us." Seokmin said as he hug his sister and hold her mom's hand, squeezing it lightly.

No words needed between them as Rona nodded and go inside the room.

It was filled with simple furniture but that didn't distract the person whose laying lifelessly on the hospital bed with lots of machine around him.

As Rona walked closer, the more she broke down again at the sight of him laying there with eyes close.

"W-why ? Why do you have to hurt yourselves ?" Rona broke down beside his bed as she didn't receive any respond from him.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for being harsh to you. I know you don't have feeling for her back then but I was afraid that you did. I'm sorry that what I said earlier brings you into this situation. I'm sorry..."

The 'I'm sorry' continued and continued until Rona ran out of reason to be sorry for.

She held his hand, "Don't leave me again, Joo Seokhoon. I need you. I need you to stay with me. I promise I won't be mad at you again. I won't come up with anything that related to divorce again so please don't leave me."

"I won't."
