"Wil!" Tommy gasped, running up to hug his brother.
"Hey Tommy." Wilbur smiled as he caught his brother in his arms.
"Are you okay!?" Tommy asked, "what happened!?"
"I'm okay! I'm okay!" Wilbur laughed, hugging Tommy tighter, "it's just a bump on the head."
Tommy tucked his head into Wilbur's chest as Ranboo, Tubbo, and Puffy walked in, "Puffy said someone broke in."
Wilbur sighed, glancing at Ranboo, "yes. They took Ranboo's axe and sword."
Ranboo's eyes went wide behind his sunglasses, "W-what!?"
"It's okay!" Wilbur told him, "your scythe is still safe. I managed to hide it."
"But the other two are still gone!" Ranboo gasped.
Puffy stepped in, "I'm sorry, weapons?"
"Cosplay!" Tubbo jumped in, "they're cosplay weapons that Ranboo worked really hard on."
Puffy sighed, "okay. Do you guys need a ride home?"
Wilbur nodded, "probably."
"Alright." Puffy smiled, "Tubbo, you staying the night again?"
Tubbo nodded, "yeah, probably."
Wilbur shrugged, "it's alright with me. Ranboo's also staying with us for the time being."
"When are you being discharged?" Puffy asked.
"As soon as the doctors make sure there's no permanent damage." Wilbur told her, "which they said there shouldn't be."
Puffy chuckled, walking out of the room, "alright. I'll wait in the car."
The moment the door closed, Ranboo panicked.
"They're gone!?" Ranboo gasped, gripping his hair where his horns would usually be, "this is bad! This is really really bad!"
"Ranboo!" Tubbo tried to stop the taller from ripping out his hair, "it's okay! We'll find them again!"
"Ranboo, it's wasn't the green blobs that attacked." Wilbur said, "they were humanoid, with white masks."
"Oh no..." Ranboo whispered, "no no no! It's over! Is world is gone!"
"Ranboo!" Wilbur placed his hands on the boys shoulders, "they said they missed the rift. I assume that's how they got here, am I correct?"
Ranboo nodded, "y-yeah. The rift opens for a short period of time, unless it has a power source to keep it open."
"What is a rift?" Tommy asked.
"A rift." Ranboo said, "a literal tear in time and space. It opens briefly, a few hours at a time. Very few people in my world can open the rift, only advanced magicians or someone who has a magical item that allows them to create a rift."
"Okay, so, that means the rift closed and the weapons are still in their world." Wilbur said.
Ranboo nodded, taking deep breaths. A doctor came in, telling Wilbur he was free to go home. The group walked out of the hospital. It was nearly midnight at this point, all the boys tired and about to fall asleep. But the time Puffy pulled up to Wilbur and Tommy's house, the blonde teen was asleep.
"Thank you Puffy." Wilbur said as he picked up Tommy from the backseat.
"Thanks mum!" Tubbo told her as he climbed out of the car.
"It's alright!" Puffy laughed, "stay safe you guys."
"Thank you." Ranboo nodded, then turning to follow the rest into the house.
The house was wrecked. Pictures smashed, broken windows. Even the couch had a few years in it. Glass crunched under Ranboo's foot. He looked down to see a picture of a younger Wilbur holding a small Tommy in his arms. Tommy didn't look older than two, Wilbur no older than ten. It was the two of them in a crowd of young children, all standing front of a large house.
Ranboo carefully picked up the small photo, placing it back on the hook it fell from. The glass was still cracked, but the antique frame was intact. And the glass was easier to replace than the frame.
"They really messed up the place." Tubbo sighed, standing up from examining a broken vase.
"I'm sorry..." Ranboo whispered, "this is my fault... I put you all in danger."
"None of that." Wilbur said, walking into the room, "the weapons were sent through before you were. Those things would have come regardless of who else came through, or who found them."
"We'll help you clean up." Tubbo moved to grab a broom.
"No, no." Wilbur took the things from Tubbo's hands, "you two go to bed. You had a long day. And I need to stay up from the next twenty-four hours anyway."
"Please," Ranboo stepped forward, "I can stay up and help, it's the least I could-"
"Bed." Wilbur told him, "Tubbo, you know where the guest beds are."
"W-wait!" Ranboo said, "where's the scythe?"
Wilbur gave him a smile, "it's in the attic. I'll show you tomorrow. Now bed, right Tubbo?"
The shorter boy nodded, grabbing Ranboo's sleeve and taking him upstairs to Tommy's room. Tubbo stopped by a closet just outside the rooms, taking out two inflatable mattresses and some blankets.
"This probably isn't as comfy as anything you have in your magic world." Tubbo chuckled as he quietly opened Tommy's door.
"There's no time for comforts in the middle of a war." Ranboo said.
Tommy was still fast asleep in his bed as Tubbo started the fans to inflate the mattresses. Ranboo couldn't help but feel a little jealous of this world. There was no world war devastating everyone and everything. No smell of smoke and death hanging in the air. Instead there were rollercoasters, and cotton candy, and a beautiful ocean.
"Alright, you're set up." Tubbo said, sitting on his already made bed.
Ranboo nodded. He layed down on the bed. Tubbo was right, the bed wasn't very comfortable. But it was preferable to hiding and hoping the next attack of Smilers or Masks would wait until morning.
The tall boy sighed softly in the darkness. Tomorrow was another day.
