T.W.: blood, fighting, death (of monsters)

Tubbo felt himself being held. He felt small, like a young child. It smelled of smoke and fire. He heard someone whisper something to him. Slowly, he opened his eyes. A young man with ram horns gazed down at him. Behind the man was a purple portal that looked like it had been ripped into the air. The man gave him a smile, moving into the portal. The air on the other side was cleaner, smelling of the sea. He heard about voice. Tubbo turned his head to see his Mum. She had a serious expression on her face as she talked with the young man. Then she glanced down at Tubbo. Her expression softened. She nodded, taking little Tubbo into her arms. Tubbo turned back to the man with the ram horns, reaching out for his blue sweater. He started crying as he reached for the man. But all the man did was give him a sad smile and hand him a bee plush. The man walked away, back into the portal. Just before he disappeared, Tubbo saw a sword with ram horns attached to the man's hip.

Tubbo woke up with a gasp and a wet face. He quickly wiped the tears from his cheeks. What was he even crying about? The strange dream?

The boy sat up, looking around at his surroundings. He seemed to be in some sort of makeshift cell in a secret cove. The sea gently washed the dark rock a few feet in front of him. Tubbo pushed himself against the wall. When he said he wanted adventure, he meant taking a vacation, not getting kidnapped on a magical journey to save two worlds.

A Mask suddenly appeared in front of the cell, making Tubbo jump. The Mask tilted it's head at an inhuman angle, staring straight at Tubbo. After a moment it skittered away again.

Tubbo shuddered. He really hated this. A few Smilers hopped around outside the cell, playing tug-of-war with something wrapped in cloth. A Mask came over and threw the Smilers into the sea. It placed the cloth wrapped item back against the wall and left again. The Smilers crawled out of the ocean, shaking like wet dogs.

The whole cave wasn't very big. If he really tried, Tubbo thought he might be able to grab whatever was wrapped in the cloth.

The boy inched closer to the bars of the cell. He reached through, stretching as far as he could. His fingertips just brushed the fabric. One of the Smilers screeched, lunging at Tubbos arm.

"Fuck!" Tubbo screamed, yanking his arm out of the Smilers teeth.

Tubbo carefully rolled his sleeve up. There were several deep gashes in his arm, all bleeding freely. Tubbo breathed slowly and deeply, trying to keep pressure on the wounds with his other hand.

The Smiler chittered in laughter. It shook itself, seemingly pleased with what it did. Tubbo weakly flipped it off. The Smiler chittered again, accidentally hitting the cloth covered item. It fell on the Smiler, startling the creature to run to the opposite side of the cave. The other Smilers seemed to laugh at it.

Tubbo turned to the cloth item again. It was closer now. He could probably reach it. But his head was starting to spin from blood loss. He fell to his side, his hand twitching toward the green leather that peeked out of the cloth. Through his blurry vision, he saw Tommy and Ranboo running toward him

"Tubbo!" Tommy shouted, getting halted by Smilers rushing at him.

Tommy frowned, hitting the across the cave with a heavy stick, "now Ranboo!"

The boy nodded. In a flash of purple light he leapt toward the Smilers by the cell. It only took one swing of the scythe to kill the few there. Ranboo's tail flicked as he stood up.

"There was also a Mask. Where is it?" Ranboo asked.

"Don't know, don't care!" Tommy shouted, trying to smash the lock of the cell with his stick.

Ranboo sighed, gently pushing Tommy away and swinging the scythe down on the lock. The door swung open slightly. Tommy ran in, grabbing Tubbo's shoulders.

"Tubbo! Tubbo wake up!" Tommy cried, trying to stop the bleeding on his arm.

Ranboo picked up the cloth covered sword, "get him out of there! We can heal him when we're safe!"

Tommy nodded, hoisting Tubbo up. He half carried, half dragged Tubbo out of the cell. Ranboo turned back into his human form and grabbed Tubbos other arm to help Tommy carry him out. They were almost out of the cove, knee deep in water when the Mask dropped down behind them.

"R-ranboo, do something!" Tommy yelled.

"I can't!" Ranboo cried, "we're in water! I wouldn't be able to fight!"

Tubbo blearily opened his eyes. He faintly heard Tommy and Ranboo. His eyes focused on the ram horn pommel just to his left. He reached for it, hearing Ranboo say his name. Tubbo ignored him. He knew what he had to do. He could feel it.

A flash of green light nearly blinded Tommy and Ranboo. When they could see again, they didn't believe their eyes.

Tubbo was up and fighting the Mask, sword in hand.

The boy jumped to attack the Mask, making a long slash in its side before landing again. Water splashed around his hooves, a few droplets landing on his long ears, causing them to flick. Tubbo aimed another attack. Then another, and another. It felt instinctual to him in a way he couldn't explain.

The Mask swung wildly, catching Tubbo's horn and throwing him into the water. The boy quickly recovered, plunging the sword deep in the Masks chest. The Mask let out an inhuman screech, falling heavily into the water.

Tubbo turned to his friends. A flash of green light and Tubbo was human again. Then promptly passed out.
