Tubbo woke up with a pain in his head and arm. He slowly pried his eyes open. It was dark. There was a warm glow to his right. He turned his head to see Tommy and Ranboo sitting on the other side of a fire, talking quietly to each other.

The boy looked down at his arm. White bandaged were wrapped tightly around his arm from his wrist to his elbow. Spots of blood were already showing though. Tubbo winced as he tried to move his fingers. His whole body felt sore.

Ranboo glanced over, gasping when he saw Tubbo was awake.

"Tubbo!" He cried, rushing over to the boys side.

"Toby!" Tommy gasped, also running over, "oh my god! You're alive!"

Tubbo groaned, "everything hurts..."

"Well you did almost bleed out, and you fought a Mask by yourself." Ranboo sighed.

"Damn..." Tubbo smiled lightly, "that's pretty badass."

"Oh my god Toby, you almost died!" Tommy yelled, "we didn't-! We didn't know if you were going to make it..."

Tubbo winced. Tommy only used his real name when he was serious or extremely pissed. They must have been really worried.

Ranboo placed a gentle hand on his shoulder, "can you sit up?"

Tubbo nodded, started to push himself into a sitting position. He paused halfway through as his bean spun, but he eventually got to leaning up against a tree. Tubbo closed his eyes as he breathed heavily.

"You okay Tubbo?" Tommy asked.

Tubbo nodded again, "yeah. Just a bit dizzy."

"Here." Ranboo offered him some water, cookies, and a bowl of beans, "it'll help."

"Thanks boss man." Tubbo said, taking the food, "how long was I out?"

"A couple hours." Tommy told him, "it's past midnight now."

Tubbo sighed, "so we've been gone for a day and we've already almost died."

"Yeah..." Tommy sat back.

"You both have the option to go back." Ranboo told them, "you don't have to stay."

Tubbo took a bite of food. Ranboo was right. He and Tommy could just go backs and leave Ranboo to search by himself. They could live a normal life without magic and strange dreams.

"You're a fuckin idiot." Tommy said.

"What?" Ranboo looked up.

Tommy rolled his eyes, leaning forward, "listen, I grew wings, and Tubbo turned into a fuckin goat. We're obviously tied to these weapon things. We're not leaving. At least I'm not."

"Tommy, it's dangerous!" Ranboo told him, "you could get killed! Or worse!"

"At least I get cool fuckin wings." Tommy smirked, "what about you Tubbo?"

Tubbo lowered his bowl slightly, "I'm staying."

"Tubbo, you got kidnapped!" Ranboo nearly yelled.

"I have questions that I'm pretty sure only the sword can answer." Tubbo said.

"What do you mean?" Ranboo asked.

Tubbo sighed, "before I woke up in ten cell, I had a dream, o-or a memory. This guy was holding me like I was a child. He took me through a portal and I saw my mum there. She looked mad and was yelling at the guy. But then she took me and the guy left. He had the sword with him."

Ranboo's eyes widened, "Tubbo... What did the man look like?"

"Uh... I don't know..." Tubbo shrugged, "he had huge ram horns and ears. He was wearing a blue sweater as well. And he had like little sideburns!"

"Tubbo... That was the previous wielder of the sword..." Ranboo whispered, "you saw Schlatt!"

"But why was he holding me!?" Tubbo yelled, "and why was the place I came from all red and smokey!? Why did I even dream of him!?"

"I don't know." Ranboo sighed, "but we'll figure it out, I promise."

Tubbo let out a soft breath, continuing to eat the food he was given. He had to admit that he did feel better after eating a little. Tubbo wondered how Ranboo knew.

Tommy crawled over a bit closer to the fire, "I'm fuckin tired. I'm going to sleep."

Ranboo nodded, "I'll keep watch tonight."

Tommy have a small nod before curling up on the ground. It was uncomfortable, and he wished he grabbed at least a few blankets before they left. But the fire was warm, at least.

Tubbo set the empty bowl on the ground, "Ranboo? Where's the sword?"

The taller boy looked up, "I shrunk it down to a necklace."

Tubbo fidgeted with his fingers, "Could... Could I carry it?"

Ranboo blinked. He grabbed a thin chain from around his neck, a small sword attacked to it. Ranboo handed the necklace to Tubbo.

The shorter boy examined the small sword. It seemed just as sharp as it would be if it was full sized. He thumbed it lightly. Tubbo put the chain around his neck, letting the sword thump gently against his chest.

"Are you sure you want to come with?" Ranboo whispered.

Tubbo nodded, "I'm sure."

Ranboo sighed softly, "go to sleep. You'll need your rest."

Tubbo layed down next to the taller boy. His eyes felt heavy after the day he had. He felt fingers card through his hair, lulling him into a fitful sleep.
