Tommy followed Phil outside. Apparently Phil had to show him something that would take the entire day. Tommy sighed heavily. His second day in this world and he already had to do stuff.

At least Tubbo had woken up yesterday. He was under strict bedrest through, and a lot of pain medication. But at least he was awake and alive.

"Where are we going?" Tommy yawned.

It was so early. The sun had barely risen in the sky. The two were in an open field, one of the only places there was still grass in the camp.

"I'm teaching you to fly." Phil gave him a small smile.

"What!?" Tommy gasped, a smile crossing his face.

Phil chuckled and nodded, "yeah. The first step is to learn to glide."

Tommy bounced on his toes, "oh, I'm so ready!"

Phil shook his head, "okay, okay! Just spread your wings like this."

Tommy copied Phil to the best of his ability. He spread his wings to their full extent. A soft breeze fluttered through his feathers. Phil tucked his wings in, moving behind Tommy to make small adjustments to his wing angles.

"There. This is the position your wings should be in when gliding." Phil told him.

Tommy huffed out a sigh, "they're heavy!"

Phil chuckled, "it's easier when you're flying. Why don't you try gliding from the tree?"

Tommy dropped his wings, looking at the tree in the corner of the field. It was bare of leaves with a large branch sticking out about four feet off the ground. Tommy pulled himself up, with a little help from Phil, and stood up on that branch.

"You're doing great." Phil smiled, "now spread your wings- a little higher- and when you're ready just jump."

"Jump!?" Tommy yelped, already feeling a burning in his muscles.

Phil nodded, "you should only glide a few feet, you'll be fine."

And that's how Tommy ended up in the infirmary with a broken arm.

"Well, well, well, looks who's back again." Tubbo grinned as his friend the bed next to him.

"Shut up." Tommy huffed as the doctor, Niki her name was, finished his cast.

Ranboo chuckled from his other side, "at least you get to go back out. I'm stuck here for another day."

"Yeah, well I'm not going to be flying for the next few days." Tommy sighed, "Phil said that I need to get used to just having wings  before I learn to fly."

"To be fair, you did just get them yesterday." Ranboo told him.

"Yeah. My muscles hurt bad." Tommy rolled his shoulders.

Niki chuckled, "I can get you something for that."

"Really?" Tommy looked up at the pink haired girl.

"Of course!" Niki smiled, "you're the wielder of the Axe of Peace! You need to be in top shape to battle the Green God."

Tommy glanced at Ranboo as Niki walked away. Ranboo simply turned away, his tail flicking nervously.

Tubbo groaned, making the boys jump, "oh my god, I can feel the tension. Just say what she meant Ranboo."

Ranboo sighed, hanging his head, "the wielders are, more or less, the elites of this world. And the more powerful the weapon, the higher the wielder is held. There's not many magic weapons left, and even less who could actually wield them. Not... Not everyone in this world can perform powerful magic... Most of those who can use powerful magic and wield a weapon are here."

"What about everyone else?" Tommy asked.

"They're outside the camp. There's towns, you know." Ranboo told them, "all of them are under the Green God's control. This is that last place the Green God hasn't reached... Yet..."

Tommy tilted his head, "yet?"

"Well you know how Schlatt was mind controlled by the Green God?" Ranboo looked up, "the same thing happened with Technoblade, the wielder of the axe. At least we think that's what happened. No one has seen him apparently. And with all the wielders gone, the camp will be open for attack."

"But aren't we the new wielders?" Tubbo asked, pushing himself up slightly.

"Yeas but..." Ranboo's tail curled slightly, "you two don't exactly know how to fight..."

"Okay, but Schlatt is back and Phil is here. So what's the problem?" Tommy crossed his arms as best he could with the cast.

Ranboo sighed, "when I was sent through the rift, Phil was about to be captured and Schlatt and Technoblade had disappeared. They're the most powerful wielders. If Phil didn't get away..."

Ranboo cut himself off. If Phil hadn't escaped, the world would be destroyed. Niki walked back in, a metal tin in her hands.

"Here, it's muscle relaxers." Niki smiled, handing the tin to Tommy, "it'll help with the soreness."

"Thank you." Tommy took the tin.

Niki nodded, "no problem! You're free to go now. No flying for a couple days!"

Tommy gave her a smile, "alright."

"When I'm released tomorrow, I'll give you a tour of the spots Phil won't show you." Ranboo gave Tommy a mischievous smile.

Niki put her hand on her hips, "what is that supposed to mean?"

Ranboo laughed, "what are you talking about!? You and Techno showed them to me!"

Niki covered her mouth to hide her laughter, "you followed us!"

"Um, should I be worried?" Tommy asked.

Ranboo shook his head, "there's secret tunnel systems all under the camp. You can go anywhere!"

"Techno and I found them and used them to spy on people." Niki told him, "then when Techno started going to the war meetings, Ranboo and I used them to listen in. Techno never told anyone."

"That sounds awesome." Tubbo grinned, "we're exploring all of them when I get out."

"That won't be for another couple days." Niki told him.

The goat boy groaned, "oh come on! It doesn't even hurt that much!"

Niki nodded, "that would be the pain medication."

Then the door to the infirmary burst open. A panicked looking Wilbur stood in the doorway. The man ran over, pulling Tommy into a tight hug.

"Tommy!" Wilbur yelled, "oh my god! I heard you were in the infirmary- I thought you were seriously hurt!"

Tommy laughed lightly, "I'm fine Wil, just a broken arm."

Wilbur sighed, "okay. Phil wants to talk with us."

"Okay." Tommy nodded, "I'll see you guys later."

Tubbo smiled as Tommy and Wilbur walked out, "visit us more often!"

Tommy laughed, "okay! Okay!"
