It had been a few weeks since the boys arrived in Daessempii. Tommy had started flying again, able to get himself off the ground now. Tubbo had been released from the infirmary and had started training with Ranboo and Schlatt. Wilbur on the other hand, had been seen going down to the river with Sally at least once a week.

Right now, the trio was sitting outside, under the tree that Tommy broke his arm on. They were told they had the day off of responsibilities.

Tubbo sighed, falling back against the dirt, "we had the entire day off and I'm still sore."

Ranboo chuckled, "you'll get used to it."

"Yeah! My wings hardly get sore anymore!" Tommy fluffed his feathers.

Ranboo rolled his eyes, "mhm, brag more about how you can fly."

"Hey!" Tommy sat up, "you both got to have cool powers long before I did!"

"Yeah, that was a fun time." Tubbo smiled.

"Shut up!" Tommy laughed.

Tubbo smirked, "nah."

"You're such a dick!" Tommy's wings flared with his laughter.

Ranboo smirked, "we'll I've had my magic for far longer than either of you."

Tommy crossed his arms, "yeah, well, can you fly?"

Ranboo shrugged, "well... I've been working on the teleportation spell..."

"Really!?" Tubbo gasped, sitting up, "like an actual enderman!?"

Ranboo laughed lightly, "yeah, it's a... Slow process... Phil usually keeps the dangerous spells locked up until he teaches them to me. But I kinda broke into the library one day..."

Tommy barked out a laugh, "you stole the spell!?"

"No!" Ranboo blushed a dark purple, "I just copied the pages on it!"

Tubbo smirked and flopped back down on his back, "that's sounds like stealing."

"I-it's not!" Ranboo huffed, "besides! I haven't even tried to perform it!"

Tommy leaned forward, "why not?"

"Like I said, it's dangerous." Ranboo shrugged, "if you don't do it properly you could lose a limb... Or your life..."

Ranboo lightly touched the white on his face. There was a moment of silence.

"Well that's dramatic." Tommy huffed, "I was expecting something like you'd end up directly in the Green God's throne or something."

Ranboo laughed, "that is a possibility!"

Tommy's feathers fluffed as he laughed. His laughter died as Phil walked over. Tommy couldn't help but be in awe whenever he saw the man. How he held his wings so elegantly, and walked as if seas would part for him.

"Hi Phil." Ranboo smiled, lazily flicking his tail.

Phil smiled back, but there was something slightly strained about it. As if it hurt him.

"Hey mate." Phil turned to all three boys, his wings drawing in slightly, "you three have been summoned to the war room."

Each if the boys froze. The smile slowly slipped off Ranboo's face. Tubbo sat up, watching the older with wide eyes.

"Please be there in ten minutes." Phil told them.

He walked away without another word. The boys sat there in shock. Under any other circumstances they would be delighted to be invited! But Phil's tone made the warm air chill.

Tommy pulled his wings in and stood up. He turned to face his friends with a smile.

"Well?" Tommy grinned, "let's not keep them waiting!"

Ranboo sighed, his ears dropping, "Tommy... It's never good when you're asked to the war room..."

"It's can't be that bad, right?" Tubbo asked.

Ranboo shook his head, "it means we're going to war."

There was a heavy silence. Tommy's wings twitched.

The blonde boy smiled, "who cares! We've been training for this! We can take down the Green God easy!"

Ranboo chuckled lightly, turning into a full blown laugh. Tommy glanced at Tubbo, who just shrugged.

Ranboo straightened up with a smile, "you really think that?"

"Of course!" Tommy grinned, "I'm Tommy-fucking-innit!"

"Yeah!" Tubbo jumped up, mimicking swinging a sword, "and I'm unstoppable with the blade!"

"All we need is someone who knows the world." Tommy held out his hand."

Ranboo took it with a smile, letting Tommy pull him to his feet.

"Alright." Ranboo let out a breath, still holding Tommy's hand, "let's do this."

"Together." Tubbo placed his hand on top of his friends.

From the far corner of the field, a man in a yellow sweater smiled. He plucked a few strings and watched as they glowed a soft blue. The boys would be a great team. Wilbur only hoped they'd all make it back.
