BTP KABANATA 14

"Sana all may flower," Kev said, standing up from his seat to get some churros.

I laughed and rested my back on my sofa. It's Sunday today, so Kev wanted to watch movies with me.

"I didn't expect it too," I said when e came back. Umupo siya sa tabi ko kaya umusog ako.

"Taray, 'yan talaga ang when." He gave me a bowl of churros with nutella. "So, anong level na kayo?"

My forehead creased. "Huh? Anong level?"

Inirapan niya ako. "Level ng relationship!" Kumain siya ng isang churros at binuksan ang Netflix ko sa TV. "Friends, close friends, bestfriends, mutual understanding pero malabo pa, courting, or kayo na?" he explained

"Bestfriends, I guess..."

"Hanggang ngayon pa-showbiz ka pa rin," aniya. "Anyway, may bagong bukas na restaurant diyan sa malapit, tara let's see if they cook well." Tumayo siya at hinila niya ako.

"Tinatamad ako!" I tried to pull my hands, but he's too persistent, so I just let him drag me out of my condo.

"'Wag ka nang maarte! Mayroon daw gwapong chef dun, so you being the best person I know, sasamahan mo ako. You already have your crush, pwede ako naman?" he said, still pulling me away.

"Fine, but let go of my hands na. Kaya kong maglakad." He let go of my hands and smiled out of victory. Napairap ako dahil doon.

Nang makarating kami sa loob ng restaurant, ang daming tao. I get it na bago pa lang kaya ganito... but isn't it too many? Halos mapuno na ang buong hall, mabuti na lang maraming table at malaki ang space.

Kev roamed around to look for a seat. We sat near the window. I was looking outside when he called a waiter.

"Good evening, Sir. What can I do for you?" a familiar voice asked. My forehead creased and when I turned my back, I saw Cloud.

"Cloud?" Pati si Kev ay napatingin sa akin. "You're working here?"

"Obviously," he sighed. "It's my mom's idea. This is fortunately theirs."

"So, you're a waiter?"

Umiling siya. "I'm one of let's say junior chef here. Hobby lang naman," nahihiyang sabi niya.

Uso pa part-time jobs ngayon? Bakit parang halos lahat ng kilala ko may part-time job. Una si Satan, ngayon naman si Cloud. Baka sa susunod si Kev na ang magkaroon ng part-time job.

"Siya 'yun," Kev said. Tulala siyang nakatingin kay Cloud. "Siya 'yung cute guy na sinasabi ko!" he pointed Cloud and looked at me.

Biglang nahiya si Cloud dahil nakakuha kami ng atensyon. He coughed and looked away.

"Famous ka naman pala," biro ko. Tumawa ako nang mamula siya. "Joke lang, si Kev na lang ang magsasabi ng order namin," I said when I noticed how uncomfortable he was.

The whole time Kev was talking to Cloud, I was busy scrolling through my feed. A lot of my blockmates are posting their no-class Instagram story. I'm starting to be friendly little by little, and my blockmates are actually kind. I judged them too soon.

They started to help me with my school stuff, so I enjoy going to school. Sabi pa nila sa akin na kaya hindi nila ako kinakausap dahil daw masyado akong intimidating. I didn't know I gave them that vibe, so I told them that I'm sorry.

Even Cloud has gotten so friendly these past few days. I often see him laughing with our blockmates, but when classes start, he's back on his usual serious face.
