Papa has been helping you control your abilities, you can read and control minds but it's not only that, it's anything alive so you can control plants too. You can feel what someone is feeling when you go inside their head...but sometimes reading minds is not all that fun because some things are better left unsaid...

~Hawkins Indiana.~ ~November 6th 1983~
Sirens were going off. It was loud, so loud I couldn't hear my own thoughts although one word stuck out to me through all the chaos....RUN.
I heard screaming coming from outside and I couldn't get out of the small room I had been sent to earlier that day because I disobeyed papa, he wanted me to force a cat to kill itself but I refused for the second time this month.
I heard a voice outside my door, I took my chance and managed to get into his head, I made him open the door and as soon as he did I started running.
I ran so fast it felt like my legs had a mind of their own, almost as if I wasn't touching the ground at all. I ran past a hallway and saw a man in a lab coat aggressively pushing the button on the elevator.
I wanted to know what was going on. I went into the man's head and I felt his fear and his panic, something was loose.....something bad. I screamed as I watched the man get lifted off the ground as the doors of the elevator shut and he was eaten by something I couldn't see. That thing, whatever it was, lifted him off the ground like he was as light as a feather.
I ran for what felt like hours through the long, white, narrow hallways of the lab as fast as I could until I finally reached a door to the outside.
The cold November air hit my face, I would've stopped and enjoyed the breeze if the circumstances had been different. My first fresh air.
I ran across the property and crawled through a pipe in the ground that lead to the outside of the lab. Once I was through the tunnel I calmed my breathing and looked back at the lab, the only place I knew. I took in the crisp air and sighed with a small smile.
It all felt so overwhelming, so overwhelming it was almost as though my mind had blocked out pieces of that day, pieces of the truth...and part of me didn't want to remember.
But I had finally found freedom, my surroundings almost seemed to know I was free as the leaves and trees swayed in a calming wind. I ran into the woods despite how exhausted I was and never looked back.
