(Your POV)

I ran through the woods as fast as my legs would take me, just trying to get away from that lab. I found a way out of the lab but those men....papa, were still after me.

I stopped when I saw something. I saw a wooden structure in a clearing of the woods...it said 'Castle Byers' on it.

"Ca-cas-el

"Ca-cas-el."
I tried to read and pronounce the sign on the wooden fortress but I only knew a few words that papa had taught me, my vocabulary was limited.

I walked past it hoping to find somewhere a bit warmer and more comfortable to stay.

My whole body turned ice cold, and I stopped dead in my tracks, goosebumps were running up and down my spine, when I saw a tall slime-covered creature standing near a house.

I tried to read its mind, hoping desperately that it didn't notice me

I tried to read its mind, hoping desperately that it didn't notice me. It was strong and difficult to reach. I felt my eyes glow white and blood drip from my nose as I tried to read it. Something was stopping me...something big and powerfull.

I quickly stopped and I caught a glimpse of a short, young, boy with brown hair and bright clothing on running into a shed behind the house. I looked back at the creature in a panic but it was gone...

I wiped the blood from my nose and quickly made my way to the shed. I could just see a shadow through the frosted widow. The light inside grew extremely bright and then there was no light, just overwhelming darkness.

I slowly opened the door, I felt scared to my very core but something deep inside me was telling me that I had to help this boy.

There was nothing inside, no monster and no boy.

"gone," I said just above a whisper.

I looked around but all I saw was some reddish-grey slime on the wall. It was just like the substance that covered the creature. The shed was lit by just the moon peeking through the window. I felt shivers run down my spine and I ran back to Castle Byers.

I would've liked to stay in the house but I didn't want to be anywhere near where that..thing was.

It was early the next morning. I could see some sunlight creeping through the sticks that made up Castle Byers.

I heard shouting next to the wooden structure. I sat up quickly and soon the curtain by the entrance was pulled back and I saw a woman staring at me in shock, she had brown hair and brown eyes, and I could sense pain and worry.

I panicked and pushed myself into the corner, not moving my eyes from her shocked face.

"Sweetie, are you lost?" She stammered and I stayed quiet.
I hid my head in my knees so she wouldn't see my white eyes while I read her mind.

"Will...gone," I said softly, saying what she was thinking about.

A slight look of hope and confusion took over her face.
"Will you know Will?" She said rather fast. I simply looked at her.

"Come on, let's get you inside you must be freezing." She said with a smile. I instantly knew I could trust her, I smiled back and we walked to the house I saw last night.

"What's your name?" She asked as she slid a steamy cup of hot chocolate across the table.

I took a sip of the chocolaty drink and smiled. It was SO good.

I turned over my left wrist slowly and showed her the 005 that was tattooed onto my arm.

She looked scared and concerned.
"Five? what does that mean?"
I pointed to myself and took another big sip of hot chocolate.
"That's your name?" She asked me.
I nodded.

"I'm Joyce Byers, you can just call me Joyce....Five." She stated and I looked up from my hot chocolate at her because I recognised her last name.

"By-ers, cas-tle Byers," I said very slowly.

Joyce nodded.
"Can I call someone? You're parents maybe?" Joyce asked with a look of sympathy on her face.

Fear took over me, and clearly it showed because Joyce's expression changed too.
"No.....not papa." I managed to say through the fear.

"You don't want to go home? where did you come from?" Joyce looked more panicked now.

"Bad place," I replied while I shook my head.

"Bad? bad how?"

I made a gun shape with my fingers and pointed it at her head and then my own. She nodded wearing a mortified face.

"How do you know will?"
"Mon-mon-ster......bad...gone" I tried to remember the right words.
"what do you mean gone? what monster?"
"Will is...gone. Not...here. Big mon-ster." I added in a shaky tone. My eyes widened, remembering what I saw last night.

I jumped when I saw someone at the door.
