It had been a month and a bit since the incident. I have been living with hopper, he was teaching me English and how to read and we drank a lot of hot chocolate so I was happy. I have made great friends with the Byers, especially Will and go over all the time.

It was Christmas Eve and I had spent the whole day at mikes house playing dungeons and dragons in the basement with Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Will.

The boys had taught me to play a few weeks ago and although it was confusing I think I was getting it. Will wanted me to play with them so we had to beg because the boys didn't like that I could read mike's mind and know what was going to happen.

I've only done that once by accident I just got so interested that I had to know what was going to happen but I still played along.

Hop was going to a Christmas party at work so I had nowhere to spend Christmas Eve.

"Something is coming. something angry. hungry for your blood.it is almost here."
"What is it?"
"It's the thessalhydra I'm telling you."
"It's not the thessalhydra."
"I'm telling you it's the thessalhydra."

There was a loud thud on the board as mike placed down the piece.

"The thessalhydra!"
"Crap," I say under my breath.

"Damn it!"
"It roars in anger!"
"Will your action!"
"What should I do I-?"
"Fireball him!"
"Fireball." I agreed.
"Fireball the son of a bitch."
Will rolled the dice.
"FOURTEEN!"

We all screamed In excitement.

"Direct hit Will the wises fireball hits the thessalhydra. It makes a painful..." Mike imitates screeches from the thessalhydra and I laugh, Will joins in.

"And then...it crumbles to the ground it's clawed hand reaches for you one last time and and and and."
Mike falls to the floor dramatics and we all cheer in excitement.

"Lucas cuts off its seven heads and Dustin places them into his bag of holding. You carry the heads out of the dungeon victorious and you present them to King Tristan. He thanks you for your bravery and service."

"Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah that's not it, is it?"
"No there's a medal ceremony-"
"Oh, a medal ceremony! What are you talking about?"

"Yeah, man."
"And-"
"The campaign was way too short."
"Yes." I agreed.

"It was 10 hours!"
"But it doesn't make any sense."
"It makes sense!"
"Uh no, what about the lost knight."
"And the... proud princess," I added.
"And those weird flowers in the cave?"
"I don't know it-"

Jonathan opened the door to the basement and came down the stairs.

"Jeez what's that smell? have you guys been playing games all day or just farting?"
"Oh that's just....they're pubescent teenage boy smell," I added.

The boys all rolled their eyes and smiled.

"Will, come on...oh Um, fee your dad asked that you spend Christmas Eve with us come on."

My smile widened dramatically.

"Thank you."

He nodded in response.

"Bye guys"
"Bye Will bye fee!"

We walked upstairs.
