Chapter 47 - Neglect

Exhausted after that big event from yesterday, I woke up in the middle of the morning. To be frank, it's 4:31 AM.

I open my eyes and wake up to an unfamiliar ceiling. 

"Oh yeah...." I thought to myself.

After yesterday's events, Moca asked her parents If I could stay the night. Basically, she wanted me to sleep over in her room.

Now, I was rather reluctant with this idea. Considering that I just told her parents yesterday that I took their daughter's virginity and then she goes asking them to let the guy that did that sleep with her tonight in the same room as her.

But, her parents asked me to stay, and I guess even my father asked me if I could stay over as well. With all of that, I couldn't possibly decline. And so here I am.

"Anon...?" I hear a person calling to me beside me.

Moca seems to be awake.

"What's up?" I asked her.

"How come you're awake?" She asked me.

"I kinda just woke up.... what about you?" I asked her back.

"Yeah.... me too..." She said.

She's all tucked up in bed, but she has her right hand wrapped around my stomach. She seems really clingy whenever we'd be sleeping together.

"Hey, Moca...." I call to her.

"Hmm?" She exclaimed.

"Do you really think all of this is okay?" I asked her.

"What do you mean?" She asked me.

"I mean... I suddenly declared that I wanted to study medicine overseas, that would mean that I'm gonna be leaving you behind... but then I went ahead and also stated that I would be marrying you when I come back....I feel kind of bad for sentencing you to years of waiting only for me to come back with a pact for us....." I said.

"You're talking like a hermit again..." She said.

"But!" I said.

But she gets up and rests on my stomach.

"....Moca...?" I was puzzled.

"Didn't I tell you? I'm gonna support you no matter where you go without me, or how far you go without me by your side. As long as you remember and keep me in your heart, Moca will always believe and have faith in you.

The support and effort you've done for me and Afterglow is something we all hold dear in our hearts.... Even if Moca has experienced many new things like love... The fact that we're still Afterglow, is enough reason for me to believe that we can still be like how we've always been even if you're now in my life!" Moca said.

"Moca..." I said....

I gave her the tightest hug that I've ever given her. 

"I.... Don't know if I really deserve any of this treatment you're giving me.... it sounds so unfair..." I said, as I slowly drive myself to tears while I was running my fingers through my dear Moca's hair.

"What's this? Are you crying Anon?" She said to me all smug.

"Oh shut up..." I said.

And the night went by pretty quickly as we discussed about the things we can do over the years. 

I realized that I can go back to Japan when summer vacation starts for us. I can even visit in between school years if I can.

Sure, our schedules wouldn't exactly line up. It could be a vacation for me, but they might still be having classes when I come home. But Moca said she'd have more than enough time.
