Chapter 13 - Ringing Old Melodies

"Does Moca really like him?"

Ran thinks to herself. She's troubled, but her face doesn't show it. No, not one bit. She refuses to show it, but she's curious about her childhood friends feelings for her other childhood friend.

"I'm over thinking things..."

She thought that that may be the case. But she was still unsure.

From a distance, a group of 4 girls can be seen heading towards Ran. It was a bunch of rowdy girls. Yes, it's the rest of the band members of Afterlow there to pick up Ran after she ran away trying to avoid a question.

"Oh, are we going now?" Ran asked.

"If you mean back to class then yes, we have 6 minutes left to head back to class" Tomoe answered.

Ran stood up and joined the group. They headed back to their classroom for the next class. But before that... Restroom~

Meanwhile at Ichinose High boys restroom, Anon and Makoto we're minding their own personal businesses. Until Makoto spoke.

"You've been hanging out with the Afterglow members recently" he said. With an eye brow raised as if he's trying to tell me something.

I nodded. I definitely think I was. I've been hanging out with Moca, Ran, and I'd occasionally bump into Tomoe and Himari from time to time.

With a bright expression on his face, Makoto then asked me "Who do you think is the cutest among them Anon?"

Shocked, I dodged the question by trying to leave the restroom alone. But I guess he's that desperate that he blocked my path. What is up with this guy? How are we friends again?

"I don't really have an opinion on that..." I said and stepped out anyways.

Makoto was persistent, he didn't stop there.

"C'mon you must be attracted to atleast one of them!" He nagged. "It's safe to say that I like them all equally..." I murmured. I was tying my best not to sound rude and biased. Cause who knows what he might think?

We we're on our way back to class but he kept on asking me. "Are you close to anyone of them?" Makoto asked with a smug expression on his face.

Wth, I remember Moca from your face! "I'd have to say....Ran..." I answered quietly. "Ran eh? She is pretty hot, and she does have a nice figure! Way to go buddy!" He blurted out. I slapped his back to see if there was something wrong with him. "It's not like that you idiot!" I said. "Tsun?".... "NOOO!!!!"

As time passed, It's time for music class. We we're assembled at the music room. There were a lot of instruments in the music room. Guitars, Cellos, Bass, Violins, and even Flutes. Mostly acoustics. The teacher left a note on the blackboard that says:

"Use this time to learn a thing or two about music. Feel free to use and play any instrument you see. I'll be back in a few minutes."

So I guess we're just going to chill here.

We were all just sitting down on the floor. Some students were checking out the instruments. I don't see anyone that can actually play anything.

As a boy that grew up with music, I was definitely tempted to pick up a guitar and start playing. And so I did...

"I guess it can't be helped..."

I stood up and walked over to the guitars and I take one out to play it.

"What are you doing? You know how to play Anon?" Makoto asked.

I simply nodded and told him to sit back and enjoy.

I started playing an acoustic fingerstye arrangement of Afterglow's "True colors"

I made the arrangement myself. It was a pretty easy arrangement, and novice could play it.

It felt wonderful and amazing. I was sitting down on a high chair while playing the instrument I love. Everyone's listening, they seem to love it. Some even recognized the song, I heard a few students singing. It was such a wonderful time.

As I finished, I got a round of applause from everyone in the room. It felt great having to make everyone happy with my playing~

"I never want to forget this ever again..." I whispered to myself.

I then put back the guitar and head for the restroom. Makoto followed me.

When Makoto entered the room, he slapped me at the back while saying "That was amazing! Way to hog all the girls you little-!!!" As I was peeing. Yes, It felt weird and a bit akward. But I got payback with a kick on the left leg. "It just seemed like it'd be a waste not to play something..." I humbly said. While he laughs at me. What is wrong with this person? Seriously.

After all of that tiring day at school, finally, finally! I can go home and rest! Cause it's friday and a weekend is coming up! I was so excited, I ran outside first!

Then I bumped into someone I didn't expect.

"!!!"

We both fell down. I immediately stood up and offered help to the one I bumped into.

"Are you oka-....." And to my surprise.. It's Moca Aoba.

I reach out my hand in order to help her stand back up.

"Anon-kun? Oh uhmm... Y-Yeah! I'm all- ouch!" Moca exclaimed. There's a red mark on her foot area. Maybe I hurt her when I bumped into her causing that bruise.

"I-Ill be fine" she said persistently.

I can't let this drag on any longer. People are staring at us, I don't want to look like a mean person that had just hurt a girl. I gave Makoto my bag and asked him to deliver it to my apartment in a little bit. He seems to understand and went running off.

He could've helped me though.

I got down and put Moca on my back so that I can carry her.

"W-Whoah! Put me down, I'll be fine!" She said.

But I insisted.

"Just calm down and let me take you home, I'm sorry about your foot..." I said.

She tightened her hug and said "Okay fine~" and we walked off back home.
