Chapter 23 - The Distance between us

I woke up staring at my bedroom wall. I could see the light that was left on. I guess I forgot to turn them off. I feel a bit strange. It's as if something happened last night... Something unforgettable.

"Oh yeah..." I exclaimed.

"I hope it wasn't all just a dream" I added.

I quickly turned off my alarm before it even rang. For once, I beat my alarm (haha).

I grabbed my phone and decided to text Moca.

"Goodmorning" I sent her.

Took her only a few seconds to reply.

"Good morning~" Moca replied back.

"You have band practice at CiRCLE today?" I texted her back.

"Yeah, I'll be heading out soon" Moca replied.

"I'll come with you. I'll see you at your place in a bit, bye" I sent her.

I didn't wait for another reply. Gosh I'm in a hurry for nothing. I'm like a kid who can't sleep for tomorrow's field trip.

I went and took a bath and prepared. I skipped breakfast and decided that I should just get something on the way.

As I was walking to Moca's house, I read the reply that she sent awhile ago.

"Sure, I'll wait for you" She said.

Good thing all of my efforts wouldn't go to waste! I consciously said to myself. Wait... What efforts exactly?

I stop by Yamabuki Bakery to buy some buns. I bought myself a Choco Coronet on the way too, I mean... I haven't eaten anything yet so....

I was approaching Moca's house. I saw her waiting outside for me. Was I a bit late? I rush to her.

"Sorry, did you wait long?" I asked her.

"Not at all, I just got out" Moca said.

"Have you eaten anything? How about give these buns a try?" I offered her.

She gave me a smile and took the bag of buns out of my hand.

"You sure are doing your job right Anon~" jokingly said Moca with a smug on her face.

When did become a boyfriend become a legal occupation?

Moca began chomping on the buns I gave her as we walked off.

The last time that they tried practicing was the time that Moca collapsed out of exhaustion, so they're going to go at it again today since Moca's in a better shape.

Moca had finished her buns.

What the heck?! That was fast! There were atleast 7 of them there and now they're all gone in a span of a 15 minutes?!

Moca averted her look towards me.

"What is it? It looks like you've seen a ghost" Moca said.

A ghost. A ghost may have eaten all of your buns.

"You sure do love buns huh?" I asked her.

Moca gave me a bright smile.

"I Love em!" Moca exclaimed.

I couldn't help but blush after I just saw that.

Moca noticed and smugged.

I don't know if I should be irritated or...

"Have you eaten Anon?" Moca asked me.

"I haven't..." I lied.

Only because I'm still hungry.

Why is that??

"You could've told me and I could've given you a few..." Moca sighed.

She seemed downed.

Is she that worried?

I came to her and grabbed her chin and directed it to my face. I then went in for a kiss.

I was leaning front a bit just so I could get my face close to hers.

It was bliss.

And a bit embarassing to be doing it in public.

I couldn't help it.

I wasn't thinking when I had done it.

It lastes for a solid 4 seconds until I pulled away.

Moca looked into my eyes with lustful yet, loving eyes.

I could tell that she loved it.

Maybe I could tease her?

"Don't be so forward..." Moca said. She was blushing.

I've never seen her like that up close. I felt amazing. I wanted to tease her more.

"You liked it didn't you?" I asked her as I placed my nose on top of hers.

Moca closed her eyes.

I felt guilty yet happy. I'm witnessing a side of Moca that I've never seen before. I never thought that she had this side within her.

She was always a shady character, but I wasn't expecting this much of a reaction.

I pulled my face away and decided to continue walking.

"I'm already full, don't worry about me~" I said.

Moca then ran up to catch me and we both started walking again.

She seems to still be blushing.

I hear Moca mumbling something...

"What's that?" I ask her.

"Can you not be this forward when we're around the other girls?" Moca asked me softly.

I felt guilty. Only guilt this time. Did I went too far?

"S-Sorry... I didn't mean to..." I exclaimed.

Moca then gave me a smug as a reply.

Moca laughed.

So that was her plan huh...

It got me good. Yup.

"You really are something aren't you?" I said.

"This is the adorable Moca-chan you're talking to~" Moca replied.

"I love you." I told her.

A short pause.

"I love you too." Moca replied.

We then got to the live house.

We went inside to see if the rest of the band was there.

Inside we found everyone, except for Ran.

"What's the meaning of this? Carrying her stuff eh..." Tomoe said.

I think she knows. I can feel that she can feel it. I have to keep up a nice act.

"I just happened to pass by and decided to help Moca out" I replied.

We then exchanged good mornings to each other.

"Where's Ran?" Moca asked everyone else.

"Ran is going to be running a bit late..." Tsugumi said.

"Ohh..." Moca exclaimed.

What's this?

An atmosphere that I can't read.

An atmosphere that I can't relate to.
