Amnesia- Rafe

Based of the song Amnesia by 5 Seconds of Summer. I absolutely love this song and it's really inspired me for this imagine. If you're listening to music while reading I highly recommend Amnesia :))

Kelsey stared out the car window, watching the scenery pass by them quickly.
"It'll be good for us love." Kelseys mum encouraged
Kelsey sighed and pulled out her phone, frowning at the photo of her and Rafe that was set as her background.
She held back the tears that were threatening to spill.

"I'm leaving."
"What?!" Rafe exclaimed
"My mums making me move- back to Australia." She cried
Rafe sucked in a deep breath and started to tug at his hair angrily.
Tears poured from Kelseys eyes, mascara streaming down her face.
"No. No. You- you can't leave! I need you!" Rafe yelled
This only made Kelsey sob harder, " baby I'm sorry."
The whole year and a half Kelsey had been with Rafe she had never seen him cry- until now.
She quickly ran over to him and engulfed him into an embrace.
"Please don't leave me." He cried into her neck

"Honey-"
"No mum- just please...don't." Kelsey cut her mum off, still mad at her for ripping her away from her boyfriend and friends.
Kelseys mum sighed, "honey you'll be able to visit-"
"I love him mum! You forced me to move across the world, and when I was finally happy you take me away again!" Kelsey cried, not being able to hold the tears back any longer.

Rafe's POV

"Rafe you can't just let her go!" Sarah exclaimed
Rafe scoffed, "do you think I want to just let her move across the world?! I've tried everything and- and she's gone!"
Sarah frowned and took a seat next to her heart broken brother.
"Are you ok?" She asked softly
Rafe stared at her blankly, he had never felt so much emotional pain in his life.

"Rafe!" Kelsey laughed
Rafe wrapped his arms around her waist, lifting her from the ground and spinning her around.
"I love you." He whispered
Kelseys eyes widened as she stopped laughing.
"What?" She asked
"I love you. And it's ok if you don't want to say it back ye-"
Kelsey cut him off with a passionate yet slow kiss.
"I love you too idiot." She giggled

"I wanna forget. So bad. But I can't, I can't fucking forget her."
"You don't have to forget her Rafe- she's the love of your life."
"I seriously wish I could just wake up with amnesia. So I didn't have to remember the look in her eyes when she told me she was leaving. She was so broken Sarah and- I couldn't do anything to help her." Rafe muttered sadly, "I wish I could forget all the good times, the memories, just so it doesn't hurt anymore."
"Don't give up Rafe."
"How?! She's moving across the world! I'm in the Outer Banks while she's somewhere in Australia! I've lost her for good!"

Kelseys POV

Kelsey waited patiently in the car while her mum quickly stopped at the shops.
She silently scrolled through her phone, looking at the hundreds of photos she had taken with her boyfriend.
I can't believe I'm leaving him.
I'll never see him again..
Kelsey let out a loud sob, once again allowing a trail of mascara to run down her face.
"Oh Rafe-" She cried out to herself
Her mum got back in the car and shut the door, looking at her sadly.
"Baby-"
"I miss him already mum. I just left him, I'm never going to see him again!" Kelsey yelled
Kelseys mum quickly hugged her, allowing Kelsey to cry on her shoulder.

"Well this is it." Kelsey muttered
"You can't go. Please. Stay with me." Rafe begged
Kelsey frowned and placed a hand on his cheek.
"Baby I'm sorry-"
"No! No don't do this to me! You can stay, you don't have to leave! Yet you're choosing to leave me!" Rafe yelled
"I don't want to leave Rafe! I'm sorry but my mum still has authority over my life!" Kelsey yelled back
"You can live with me! You don't have to do this!"
"It's not my decision Rafe!" Kelsey stressed
Rafe screamed in anger, kicking the side of his car.
Kelsey simply watched his outburst, biting her lip to try and stop the sob waiting to escape her lips.
"I love you. So so much." Kelsey said, grabbing onto Rafe's hand.

"I want to forget mum! It just hurts so much."
"I know honey. It will get better though- trust me."
"But that's the thing, I love him so much that I don't think it'll ever stop hurting."
Kelseys mum frowned, wiping the smudged mascara from her skin.
"I wish I could just wake up with amnesia." She whispered

Kelsey finally arrived at the airport, her and her mother sat on some chairs, waiting to be called to board the plane.
Kelsey stared at the huge tv sign in front of her.

Outerbanks departure to Sydney, Australia

She slid on her sunglasses, she could feel the tears starting to well up once again.
She felt her phone buzz.

Sarah 🥰
Kelsey I know it might be too late, but please you need to stay! We all love you too much. Especially Rafe- he's a mess.

Rafe 🤍
Baby I love you so much. Don't ever forget it.

She can't do this. She can't forget him. No matter how much she tried. She didn't want to forget him.
"Mum. I can't do this."
"What do you mean?"
"I'm staying. I can't move again, I can't leave Rafe."
Kelseys mum sighed, "I'm not leaving you in another country Kelsey."
"I'll be with Rafe, the Cameron's can take care of me, I'll also have Kiara and her family- just please let me stay." She begged
Kelseys mum gave her a tight smile, placing her hands on both sides of her face.
"Go. Go find him. But I expect you to visit frequently."
Kelsey grinned and embraced her mum into a tight hug.
"Thank you. I love you so much."

Kelsey sprinted down the Cameron's driveway, making her way to the front door.
She swung it open, not bothering to knock.
"RAFE!" She yelled out
She shut the door and walked further into the house.
"RAFE! SARAH!" She called
"Baby-?"
Kelsey smiled as she seen a confused Rafe standing at the doorway.
"I guess I'm staying after all."
A grin broke across his face, he wasted no time in running towards Kelsey and wrapping her in his embrace.
"ARE YOU SERIOUS?"
"Yes!" She laughed
"OH THANK FUCK! I don't know what I'd do without you, I love you so so much." He showered her face is many kisses as he tightened his grip on her, scared that she'll disappear.
"I wouldn't dream of leaving you. I love you too much."
