My Happy Ending- Rafe

Octavia watched from afar as her ex-boyfriend Rafe Cameron sat with his group of friends, his arm now around a new girl.
Octavia's stomach dropped as she saw him genuinely smile, his eyes glimmering with love and adoration as he looked at the girl.
He used to look at me like that not too long ago...

Octavia's friends had warned her about Rafe, even his sister Sarah. They warned her she'd end up hurt in the end- but of course she didn't listen, just like any lovesick teenager she went against their word and fell hopelessly in love with the Cameron boy.
Their relationship was new and full of adventure and excitement.
There was never a day when Octavia wasn't happy and Rafe felt that way too until recently.

"Hey is everything ok?" Sarah asked

Octavia nodded slowly and tore her eyes away from the man she still loved.
"I'm fine- everything's fine."

"You know it's ok to not be fine- you've gone through a lot." Sarah comforted.

"The best thing is to just forget. I need to move on." Octavia frowned.

"YOU WERE EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING THAT I WANTED! WE WERE MEANT TO BE, SUPPOSED TO BE BUT WE LOST IT!" Octavia sung

Rafe glanced at her, grinning ear to ear.
"I'm sorry babe but singing is definitely not your talent."

Octavia dramatically gasped, "How could you say that? I'm the next Beyoncé."

Rafe shook his head and laughed, "I don't know about the next Beyoncé but maybe some auto tune will help you out."

Octavia smiled and playfully flicked Rafe's arm.
"Ok maybe not Beyoncé."

"I'd make a great Beyoncé." Rafe smirked

"Pfft no way!"

Everywhere Octavia went she was bombarded with memories of Rafe.
Memories she just wished would fade away, along with the love she still held for him.
Octavia walked along the dirt road, kicking the same rock repeatedly.

"RAFE!" A girl squealed

Octavia lifted her head and looked towards the beach, tears instantly welling up in her eyes.
She spotted Rafe chasing after his new girlfriend, picking her up and spinning her around as they both laughed hysterically.
He looked so happy, she just wished the girl was still her in his arms.
He was everything she ever wanted, she thought they'd live a great life together.
But clearly she was wrong.

Octavia began to run, desperately trying to escape from the emotional wrath Rafe unintentionally held her in.
All these thoughts intruded her mind, no matter how hard she tried she couldn't get them out of her head.
He never loved you..
He's happier now..
All you did was cause him unhappiness..
He didn't care..
He only pretended..
It was never you..

"Octavia?!"

Octavia ignored the calls from behind her, wiping the tears that fell from her eyes.
"Hey! Octavia please!"
A hand grasped onto her arm, stopping her in her tracks. She spun around to meet Rafe's icy blue eyes.

"What do you want Rafe?" Octavia sniffled

"I-I uh just saw you run off and I wanted to talk to you."

Octavia looked over Rafe's shoulder to see his new girlfriend waiting impatiently from afar, looking quite unhappy Rafe was talking with her.
"You're girlfriends waiting for you Rafe." Octavia said bluntly

Rafe shook his head, "She can wait O."

"I don't want to talk Rafe."

"I do. We haven't had a chance to speak and there's so much I need- I want to say to you."

With all the different emotions swirling inside of Octavia, it overwhelmed her completely. She didn't know what came over her but Rafe's presence made her snap.
She finally broke.

"You had your chance to say whatever you wanted to say Rafe! Did the last year and a half mean nothing to you?! Did I mean anything to you!? You left me- you decided you'd had enough of me and you moved on so fucking easily! But you know what I'm not surprised because Rafe fucking Cameron always has to get what he wants, he has to have everything he can't have! When you broke up with me out of the blue you didn't even stop to think about how I felt- how it made me feel about myself! Where's my happy ending?! You get yours just like always BUT WHERE IS MY HAPPY FUCKING ENDING?!"

Rafe stood in shock, his jaw dropped and his eyes widened.
"Octavia you meant everything to me-"

"Don't you dare give me that complete utter bullshit Rafe!" Octavia spat

"I'm serious O. Our relationship was everything to me, I didn't mean to hurt you at all it was never my intention-"

"RAFE! COME ON!" His girlfriend screamed out

Octavia bit the inside of her cheek in anger, "You're being called."

Without giving Rafe another chance to speak, Octavia turned on her heel and stormed off.
Feeling absolutely worse than before.
Rafe had confused her even more with his encounter.
Again, a variety of thoughts clouded her mind but the one that stuck out the most was everyone was right- you weren't meant to be.
The thought was true- Octavia had realised that even though she loved Rafe unconditionally they just weren't meant to be and Octavia had to move on no matter what.
Just like Rafe has.

Octavia may not have gotten her happy ending with Rafe but she sure as hell wasn't going to give up on finding one.
Everyone deserves their happy ending.

I actually really enjoyed writing this imagine- I probably listening to Avril Lavigne's song My Happy Ending a million times on repeat just to be inspired to write this imagine 😂
