Adrien
The next day at school, Adrien hoped Marinette would be back to her regular bubbly self. Alya sat next to Nino once again, so Adrien took her place next to Marinettes empty seat.

"Is anyone absent today?" Miss. Bustier asked tapping her pen on her clipboard. Everyones eyes diverted to the classroom door just as Marinette stumbled through, tripping over her own feet. Her books scattered all over the floor as she landed on her chest with a wince. "Here," she said breathlessly.

The class laughed at her clumsiness, it was nothing out of the ordinary but it was still a laughing stock. Adrien immediately went to his feet and helped her pick up her books.

She fumbled immediately to her knees and stammered, "T-thank you A-Adrien for helping me uh- pick up my things! Because I'm sure you know how clumsy I am by now and I'm sure that even though you're sick of my tripping you came to help and that's so amazing of you because you're so amazing- I mean! Amazing at- uh- picking up things!"

She slapped her forehead and he smiled at her softly. "Anytime Marinette." Her cheeks flushed a bright red as she jumped up from the ground and hurried to her seat.

To her obvious surprise, Adrien sat down next to her and smiled at her again. Her cheeks burned an even brighter shade of red, and her rambling continued. "Wait you're here, and Alyas there- why is that- wait is Lila coming today? Am I sitting in the wrong seat again?" She slapped her head, "I'm so clumsy."

Nino and Alya chuckled at her forgetfulness, but Adrien couldn't make himself laugh. She was so upset the day before that she didn't even notice him sitting next to her- no stuttering and no smiles- she wasn't aware of anything.

"Alya and Nino just wanted to spend some time together." Adrien said carefully. "And I'd much rather sit next to you than alone in the back." He smiled at her and she laughed nervously. As much as she stuttered and fell, lately she had seemed... different. After seeing her at the pool that one day with Kagami, she had stuttered a little less and smiled a little more.

He liked that. He loved talking to her as Chat Noir because she seemed so much calmer, so different from when she was with Adrien. He wondered why a lot, but never thought too much about it. She knew she was a fan of his, which made him happy to know that she liked him. Maybe that was why she stuttered so much around him and not as much around Chat Noir. Although Chat Noir technically was a celebrity too...

He didn't have much time to think about it though, because suddenly everyone in the corridors were screaming "akuma! akuma!"

"Everyone stay where you are!" Miss Bustier said firmly. We're never going to get anywhere if we're all running around everywhere."

"Miss. Bustier may I use the bathroom?" Adrien asked at the exact same time as Marinette. She looked from Marinette to Adrien and sighed. "One at a time please. Adrien you may go first."

"Miss Bustier I REALLY need to go!" Marinette pleaded.

"Um, excuse me Miss Bustier, but someone should go warn the others anyways," Alya intervened, "Plus Marinette needs to go to the bathroom very badly, and you shouldn't have her bladder wait on her right?" Alya said.

Miss Bustier sighed. "Fine, you may both go. Hurry back please. If you're not back in ten minutes we'll have to assume you've gotten caught."

They nodded and left the room. They walked in awkward silence to the bathrooms, but when they got there the villain was already waiting. "THERE YOU ARE!" the villain pointed directly at Marinette and narrowed its eyes. "YOU!"

"Marinette!" Adrien yelled pushing her to the ground to avoid the villains grasp. He landed on his back with her on top of him, his left arm wrapped around her back and his right hand in her hair to make sure she didn't crack her skull from the fall. He couldn't help but notice how soft it was and how wonderful she smelled- not just like flowers and rainbows, but a scent that smelled beautifully natural, and sweet.

He wanted to stay like that for a while, not because the moment was mildly intimate but because he never wanted her to be in harms way. He had promised once upon a time to always be there to save her, and he refused to ever break that.

However, she clearly did not feel the same. Barely a second went by before she was up on her feet, a scarlet red blush upon her cheeks. Despite that, the mighty glare of determination she gave the villain could have burnt through walls. "Come and get me!" She yelled, staring right into the beasts eyes.

"You don't scare me, Lila."
