y/n pov
It was almost the end of my day, I was working a bit over time today. To make up for the fact I wasn't present yesterday without actually informing the team or team captain.
When I looked up I saw Jimin approach from afar. It was pretty clear that he was heading my way. I couldn't deny that I still found him very attractive, we had been through a lot and my heart was not sure of anything but it was impossible to deny he looked ethereal.
Indeed after not too long his figure was next to my little desk.
'hey y/n'
There was something in his manner of talking and even in the way he walked, as if he was suffering.
'Hey Jimin'.
'Can we have a talk? maybe at the rooftop?'
'yes sure, can I wrap this up for a moment?' I asked while eyeing the papers on my desk which I was working on.
'yes sure'
Jimin waited patiently while I quickly scanned through the last page of my document. I had been reading into this case on which I would start tomorrow, and considering I had only one page to go when Jimin disturbed my reading time, it seemed logical to finish that.
Though I had to admit that my curiosity to why Jimin wanted to talk was taking over. So the last paragraph I half read and then closed the file.
'okay I am good to go.' I said while getting my things and following him. It soon became clear he was guiding me to the rooftop. We sat down at the concrete block and the memory of our previous time here entered my mind.
How he came here because he knew I was upset about mother. How my body was going crazy by this sweet gesture of him, how I looked at him with this adoration and desire at the same time. Almost none of those feelings were as strong as they had been back then.
So much had happened
and so much had changed
Jimin took two cans of beers out of his bag.
'Just like last time?' I asked with a chuckle.
He smiled softly
'Just like last time.'
I opened it and Jimin held out his, as to cheer. I wasn't too sure what in the world we could cheer about but I also didn't want to leave him hanging. and I softly hit his can with mine.
'so what is that you wanted to discuss?' I asked
Jimin stared ahead, into the busy city.
'I have discussed my departure with Jungkook and he has agreed that I can leave the police force as soon as possible, instead of at the end of the year.'
I was contemplating about the words he just said.
'You're leaving?'
'I am yes, the first of the month probably. I will hand in my resignation tomorrow.'
'oh' I let out and I couldn't really disguise my disappointment.
Yes, a lot has happened and it wasn't as before, but I had been partners with Jimin for almost all my time at the police force. He was always around, plus he understood me in a way hardly anyone did.
Him leaving meant that I wouldn't see him at all anymore, I wasn't part of their gang so I wasn't attending their meetings or stopping by their gatherings. If Jimin wasn't around in the office anymore I wasn't sure where I could actually see him.
