Too close!

I woke up in a bit of a haze,
I looked out the window and noticed that it was way later then it should've been.
I quickly jolted up, immediately feeling the pain of the injuries from the previous night.
I let out a small "ack" as the memory's from last night came flooding back.

I just sat for a second letting my body settle into itself.
I looked up at the clock hoping to gain any sense of time back,
12:00pm?!?
Shi-
I quickly scrambled to my feet and ran around my room to gather my things.
I changed out of my tattered clothes and slapped on my lab coat and grabbed the misc papers off my desk.

I looked at the papers hoping that they were relevant to the experiment, i always made copy's just in case something like this happened.
I sighed in relief, thank goodness,
At least not everything was lost in the explosion,
just three days of work and my pride.

Then i noticed, hey, i can actually read this, my eyes weren't blurry anymore! And my injuries seemed to be much better,
ribs still hurt like hell, but my arms and hands seemed good enough to work!

I need to get started as soon as possible!
I went to leave my room, but as soon as I reached for the door nob, i stopped,
The sudden image of my boss popped back into my head.
Why does this keep happening to me?!
I rubbed my face, hoping to shake off the intrusive thoughts.

I sighed, i should check on him.
He seemed "off" last night, he might be sick.
...
I really don't want to face him right now,
But it's kinda my job?
Ughhhh.
I should also check on 505 and demencia,
I'll do that first.
I know I'm just avoiding the inevitable, but...
I'll put it off as much as I can.
I finally push through the door, and into the hallway.

First i decided to check on 505, he was the easiest to deal with out of the three.
I make my way across the manor to 505's room,
since it was so late in the day, he was probably already done with the household chores and back in his room by now.
Once I get there i give the door a quick knock and open the door.
I'm immediately greeted with a happy "baw" and a hug from the oversized bear,
Which i needed.
Hey there bud! How you feeling?
I asked getting straight to the point.
He gives a confused baw in response.
Yooou've been feeling strange at all? Specifically since last night?
He just simply nods his head no.

Do you mind if I check your temperature?
There might be a fever going around...
He gives a nod in agreement, seeming a little worried about the sudden questioning.
I give a reassuring smile, its nothing to worry about mijo, i just want to make sure no one gets sick.
He seemed a little relieved,
I'll be back later with my equipment, okay?
I give him one more smile and stick out my arms to give him a hug.
He quickly seized the opportunity and pulls me into a tight hug, he seems much better now.
I'll be back in a bit, i say as i pull away from him.
He gives a agreeing baw as i wave him goodbye and leave.

I shut the door behind me as I leave the room.
I groan, next is dementia.
She's probably in her weapon room,
She had her own designated testing range after what she did to the main one,
I shudder.

I take my time getting to where demencia was located.
I finally got to the door and could already hear banging and crashing through the walls,
I really need to work on sound proofing.
I gave a loud knock, hoping it would cut through the noise.
Coommeee innn~ i hear the girl yelling from inside the room.
I sighed before opening the door.

Wow! Your alive! Demencia yelled putting her weapon down.
I thought whatever that noise was last night killed you for sure, haven't seen you all day! She said laughing.
Unfortunately, no. I said clearly annoyed.
So what was it anyways? Demencia said immediately forgetting what she was doing before I came in the room.
It was just an explosion, no big deal, i said trying to brush it off.
Then what's that? She said pointing at my bandaged up wrist.
She was just like an annoying younger sibling sometimes, i swear.
An injury, happens all the time. You of all people should know one when you see one.
I said teasing her back.
She just stuck out her tongue.
