A ceasefire, and a possible promotion?

I really don't want to be here right now.
I've always dreaded meeting my brother again, but I never thought it would go quite like this...

"Are we REALLY going to gloss over the fact that those two are plotting something." Goldheart continues his yelling, his face scrunched in disgust.

"Leave them alone." White hat say with a sigh.

"No! I won't just 'leave it alone', this is Black hat we're talking about!
You know, evil incarnate.
I doubt that this thing would want to 'share' his organization, there must be something else it's planning!" He says gesturing to black hat.

"But if this monster IS planning something with the nerd." He says gesturing to me. "Isn't it our job to stop them?" Goldheart says excited.

"We're right here you know." I say annoyed.

"Like, I've said. I have a peace treaty in progress.
And if you don't keep your mouth shut." White hat warns.

"But were RIGHT here, I know that if we fight black hat together, we can win! or at least kidnap the nerd." Goldheart says happily.

"No." White hat says frustrated.
"And if I hear another word of this, I'll consider it conspiracy to commit unlawful acts of harm against an individual protected by the P.E.A.C.E organization.
and I'll be forced to reprimand you accordingly." White hat says sternly.

"What!" Me and goldheart say in unison.

Even black hat is unable to hide the look of shock from his face.

White hat coughs, breaking the tension.
"Of course this only applies to when they're keeping their end of the deal, if the commit an act against the treaty, then you can act accordingly." White hat says, looking directly at me.

"Now hold on. I have yet to agree to any deals." Black hat cuts in.

"Yes I know. You whished to discuss it with your..." White hat hesitates, and looks me up and down. "colleague... first"
"But I figured since we're all here, we might as well start setting things in motion." White hat says proudly

I turn to black hat and give him an annoyed look.
"Care to tell me what exactly you and white hat were planning behind my back?" I say crossing my arms.

"Behind YOUR back!?!" Goldheart cuts in with a scoff.

I ignore him, and focus on black hat, who looks guilty at first, then his face turns to frustration.

"I wasn't planning anything behind your back." Black hat says, copying my annoyed tone.
"I simply agreed to pay my brother a visit this morning while I was on my was to run my other errands, he offered me a deal.
I said I wasn't doing anything until I got your opinion on the matter. That's it." He says with an frustrated look.

And I do start to feel a bit bad about snapping at him...

"Glad that's all cleared up then.
Now, Back to the peace treaty." White hat say happily.

"Not a peace treaty." Black hat corrects him.

"Ceasefire then." White hat says with a sigh.

"What's the difference." Goldheart cuts in

"Peace treaty is a formal agreement to stop a war, a Ceasefire is, as it name implies, simply a suspension of aggressive actions on either side." I say proudly.

"That's dumb." goldheart says under his breath.
"Why would we ever agree to that?"

"I, kinda agree? What's in it for us?" I say raising a brow.
