I sit at my desk, trying to focus on my work.
But my mind keeps wandering.
The strangeness of the object in my pocket is becoming too much of a mystery to ignore.

I try to ignore the urge to solve whatever the hell it was, whatever the hell he was.
But as a man of science my mind naturally wants to solve any puzzle it comes across...

As I read through my paperwork
I mindlessly put my hand in my pocket and fidget with the card, I rub my thumb over the emblem embedded in the cardstock.
It's strange,
it really does remind me of our logo.

I sigh out loud, unable to contain myself anymore.

I have to figure it out.

I'm sure black hat wouldn't want me wasting any more time on him,
but...
Black hat's busy doing whatever suspicious activity he's got going on.

I push myself away from my paperwork and to the spot of the lab with the computer.
I start going through any exchanges from us, to him, nothing.
He must've used some anonymous source to make his appointment?
Though, it's not unusual, most people don't really want a paper trail of this stuff.

I go through his purchase history,
It's stuff I already knew,
"frequently buys our weapons, never uses them."

Then I finally check for any information we have on file for him,
But once again, there's not much, not even a full paragraph worth.
"Minimal use of weapons, Known to avoid fights, prefers stealth"
blah blah blah.
Nothing of use or anything to identify who the hell he is.
For such a frequent buyer, we don't have anything on him...

I lean back in my chair in defeat.
Then I pull out his card.

I hesitate,
I just sit and stare it.

There's no way I'm actually going to call him, right?
...
But I have to figure out what's going on,
Why is he shrouded in mystery,
Why have I never heard of him,
Why isn't he in the villain database,
Why is he using a suspiciously close logo to ours?

I shove the card in back into my pocket.
There's one last thing I can do...
It's risky.
but, can't be more risky than calling this weirdo, right?

I could always try to get into the heroes data base,
Maybe they'd know more then the villains.
All I have is his number, and a probably fake name.
But if I get caught hacking into the hero database?
I don't even want to think about it...

But,
I have to know....

I'd just go in and out,
who better to try this then me, right?
No problem.

I hesitate over my keyboard for a second,
Then quickly try to get in and out before I'm detected.

And despite what I've thought,
It's remarkably easy to get into?
Though I suspect there's no good reason for anyone to snoop in here.

I quickly search the name "Suron", nothing.
I figured as such.
I then type in the number from his card,
Then, something started coming up?
I couldn't believe his number was in their files!
I knew he must've been using a fake name!!

Only one, encrypted, file shows on screen,
I start downloading as much as I can.
I'll take too long to de-encrypt it here, and I don't have that kind of time before I get caught...

Then I see someone else log on.
Shit.
Before I even have time to react, the screen turns black.
They must've had a system in place to detect downloads...

Well, at least it seems that they've shut it down before they've had the time to track me down.

I look at what data I've gotten before they booted me out, but,
Nothing.
What I do have is useless without the rest of it...
