I walked down the stairs in my robes and converse with my waist length hair in a side braid. "I don't know how you live with that long of hair." Aiyanna said when I got down the stairs.
"Well, my mom never let's me cut my hair." I played with the ends of my hair. I really wish I could cut it.
"This sounds like a Repunzel story to me," Aiyanna said. I thought about cutting my hair as we walked to the green house. If I cut my hair, maybe it would show my mom that I'm not a child any more! The hallway was almost empty except for about ten wondering first years.
"Hey, do you know anyone who can cut hair?" I asked Aiyanna. She stopped and faced me.
"Yes, actually, I do. Lavana knows how to. She works with her mom at the salon during summers. Why?" She obviously has no clue why I wanted to know.
"Because I want to get a hair cut. I want it to my shoulders, like you," Aiyanna seemed shocked at my answer, but something seemed to cross her mind.
"Ok, I'll talk to her, but we need to get to class!" She grabbed my hand and began to sprint unit the green house came into sight. Then she let go of my hand and began to jog down to the green house.
"You're late," someone said as soon as we walked inside. We turned to see a teacher standing in front of us. "Professor Longbottom, I'm sorry. I was showing Luna around and lost track of time," Aiyanna said before I could come up with a stupid excuse.
"Thank you, Aiyanna, for showing Luna around, but next time be on time. Go stand with everyone else ladies," then the professor turned back to teaching his class.
We wondered our way to the back of the crowd. "Being late on your first day is not a good first impression," someone whispered in my ear. I turned my head to see James. I smiled and then put my finger to my lips, telling him to be quiet. He took the hint and turned back to Professor Longbottom.

Our first day of classes was finally over. Now, all I had to do, was make it through dinner and I was good to go. I sat down next to Aiyanna (on my right) and James (on my left). James mostly talked to his friends, so that gave me time to talk to Aiyanna.
"Have you talked to Lavana yet," I asked her when I was done with my main course. She shook her head no and reached for dessert. I slapped her hand and she turned to look at me. Then she reached for dessert again and I slapped her hand, again.
"Fine," she mumbled in frustration. "Lavana!" She yelled down the table. A girl with reddish brown mid-back hair turned and looked at us. She smiled and then walked towards us.
"Yes," the girl said. She had a heavy French accent.
"Lavana, Luna wants you to cut her hair like mi-" someone had just spit out there food, interrupting our conversation. All three of us turned and looked to see who did it. James was starring at us, in astonishment, while crumbs were all over the table.
"You're cutting your hair!" He exclaimed loudly.
"Yeah, why is it such a big deal?" I asked jokingly.
He paused. "It isn't," then stood up and left.
"Awkward," Lavana said from behind me. "Anyway, I will do your hair, how about, next week on Monday." I shook my head yes and smiled a big smile at her.
"Thank you," Aiyanna said and then grabbed her dessert fast. I laughed a little and then got some dessert of my own.
