The wind slapped me in the face as soon as I was outside. I walked a little faster. When I got a view of the Forbidden Forest, I ran the rest of the way.
The forest was dark and made weird noises. I shivered and looked around. James was no where that I could see. Then an ear splitting streak filled the air. I recognized the scream.
"Mom!" I screamed back at the voice. Again, the voice screamed. I sprinted into the forest, dodging trees and bushes as I ran. The person screamed again and I stopped to look around. Then, all of a sudden, I was being tied up with rope. I struggled to break free, but it didn't work.
"It won't work, darling," a calm voice said from behind me. I stopped struggling and turned around. "Maeve!" I gasped. She just threw her head back, laughing. Another scream shot through the air and I turned my head to see my mom tied to a tree.
"Let my mother go!" I screamed at Maeve.
"I don't think I could do that," Maeve laughed. I struggled with the ropes again.
"Luna," my mom said breathlessly. "I'll be fine! You need to get out of he-" but she was interrupted by someone.
"Avada Kedavra!" The stranger's wand shot at my mom and she went limp.
"Mom!" I screamed. She couldn't be dead. She's supposed to protect me, help me out of this, be my family. Tears fell down my cheeks.
"How did I do, mother?" The stranger asked Maeve.
"Wonderful, Lavana!" Maeve called, cheerfully.
