I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and tried to lift my head. It felt like it weighed a ton. I looked at my surroundings only to realize I was in the hospital wing.
"Luna!" James exclaimed. I turned my head and grinned at him. I noticed someone behind him.
"Headmistress," I whispered, afraid my voice would fail.
"Miss Luna, I've been informed of what happened last night and I'm really surprised!" I hung my head in disappointment.
"I know," I muttered. "I'm going to have to leave Hogwarts." Then a sharp reality hit me. I have no home. Both of my parents are gone and I have zero family left.
"No! You're staying here! You're at the top of every class and you almost beat Hermione Granger with your grades!" She said a little too loudly.
I smiled with joy and looked over at James. He smiled back at me. I was once again lost in his eyes.
"Well then, I'll just leave you two alone," and the headmistress walked out of the hospital wing quickly. James grabbed my hand and sat on the edge of the bed.
"You okay?" He asked. I nodded and rested my head on the pillow. He leaned down and kissed my forehead. He started to pull away, but I latched my fingers together around his neck and pulled him closer. This time our lips met. All my pain, my memories of the night before, they were gone. Forgotten.
"Ready to leave?" He asked with a crooked smile.
"Yes," I replied breathlessly. He squeezed my hand and we walked out of the hospital wing together, hand in hand.
