The Light's Beauty

My eyes are sensitive to the light,

The bright sun stabs at me, like dagger blades driving deep within my eyes,

But your light is soothing,

A soft, brilliant glow that warms and calms a troubled heart.

When the cruel light of day bares upon me,

Burning my soul with it's harsh glare,

It is your gentle light that obscures it,

Leading me onto the sweetly lit path to eternal beauty.

The harsh light of the world blinds me, bringing pain,

Making me falter on the path, that is mine to follow,

Yet that light dims into a harsh, garish glare, when faced with the true beauty of your light,

And once again my feet tread surely upon the path that is mine alone.

I know, no matter how the cold light of the world strikes at me, that I can endure it,

For I know that gentler, purer light.

The Light of Heaven; of the Good Lord Almighty, and his Blessed Angels.

A light that transcends and overshadows all others.

And I am blessed by that gentle light,

By the warm radiance of the Holy Presence,

Granted and gifted an insight to the light beyond.

Protected and beloved, I have glimpsed the Light of Paradise.

And once seen, it's gentle pure light becomes embedded in your soul.

The bright, sharp pain of this earthly realm is but fleeting in it's intensity,

For that warmth beyond all, brightens every cell of your being,

The Light and Love of Heaven soothes a soul made weary by the travails of this mortal existence.

Pure light, pure love, pure heart, pure being,

Gentle, warm, refreshing, and soothing'

Blessed and beloved, protected and protecting,

I am at peace in the light; I am at home.
