Illusions Of A Soul

Paradise Glimpsed

A window opens onto realms of wonder,

Crystalline spires glow with colours unnamed,

Warm air flowing with fragrant breath,

The gentle touch of flowers caressing the senses,

Lifting the soul with rhapsody unbound.

Sunlight filters through purity's haze,

Alighting on images lost to beauty beyond comprehension,

Eyes closed, the visions remain,

Imprinted on memory too fragile to hold all detail,

Absorbed by the deeper whole to become part of the self.

Soft strains of music fill the air,

Heard with senses deeper than understanding,

An ancient song that enwraps the innocent soul,

Filling a longing heart with it's joyous beat,

Words filling the mind with beauty that is eternal.

Enriched with peaceful solitude yet never completely alone,

You wander through shining fields of splendour,

Surrounded by the true beauty of nature unrestrained,

Trees and flowers grow in rampant vitality,

At one with all that exists in harmony.

Water flows in glistening rivers,

Falls from polished cliffs like a cascade of life,

Sparkling with the pure light of a thousand gems,

More precious than any stone drawn from the ground,

This is the true wealth of nature.

Formal gardens grace the eye,

Bubbling fountains soften their heady scent,

Never at odds with the rawness of nature,

The two as one, parts of a greater whole,

A knowledge shared by one who indulges the senses.

From a place high within a palace of light,

All is seen spreading beneath like a carpet of life,

Comfort and calm enfold the being who watches,

Guardian and Guide,  close enough to breathe pure love,

Always together, protecting and embracing with silent joy.

Wonders glimpsed can never be forgotten,

A starlight city where timeless beings dwell,

Each structure unique, teasing the senses with greater glory hidden to the human mind,

For how can one, still anchored to the earthly realm, hope to fully comprehend what is seen,

Greater sight is needed than mortal eyes can provide.

But once seen it is with you forever,

The promise of enlightenment to wonders beyond all,

The touch of paradise in a whispered embrace,

Sweet singing visions of beauty's pure heart,

Love that empowers the deepest secrets of life.
