CHAPTER 14

At nagburo na nga sa bahay si Azrael. He worked through the night and day. When he realized he needed to go out and eat, he almost screamed in frustration. He owns a freaking grocery and not have supplies in his own house.

Pagkabukas niya ng pinto ng bahay niya ay nakita niya si Thunder na pa-katok na sana ng pinto niya.

He was dressed up in a tux.

"Anong okasyon?" tanong niya rito.

He bawled his eyes out. "Have you forgotten?"

"What?"

"Santacruzan?"

He face palmed. "F*ck I forgot. Can I skip it?"

Thunder grinned. "Are you sure you'll skip? Carrie's orders."

"Fine. Give me fifteen minutes."

He dashed inside and took the fastest shower he can take before putting on an all black ensemble. Carrie can be a little creative on giving punishments so he better attend than humiliate himself.

After fifteen minutes, he was in Thunder's car on their way to the Grand Garden where the parade will be held.

There were a lot of guests who were non-members. Festivities like this provide ways for them to meet potential investors and for Carrie to see future members.

The parade started when they arrived. They made way to Waldo's side to have themselves checked. Yes, they take their attendance seriously. The last time a member didn't follow Carrie's request, he had to wash all the cars used by all the members.

They can defy her but they need to pay up 50% more of their original membership fee for the next five years. Simple lang naman ang gusto nito. Ang makipag-socialize ang mga members. She'll choose the "lucky 5" per party or festivity. Thunder and him included.

After getting themselves checked, nakita sila ni Carrie.

"Great to see you Thunder and Azrael. I was already thinking of interesting things you can spend time on."

"C'mon. We're here!" Parang nagmamaktol na sabi ni Thunder.

"Fine. Fine. Nasaan na ba si Sister Nyx? Have you met her? Wait papunta na siya."

He attempted to walk away but Thunder held him. Ayaw paiwan ng gago. Akala mo naman lalamunin ni Carrie.

In her usual pink and white habit, Nyx walked through the crowd and emerged before them. She had that comforting smile again.

"I'd like you to meet my members. Thunder and Azrael."

Nakipag-kamay si Thunder rito. "Nice to meet you, Sister."

"Kilala ko na si Sir Azrael. Nalibre na niya ako ng dinner."

Sabay napatingin sa kanya si Thunder at Carrie.

"Well...have a fun evening." Bugaw sa kanila palayo ni Carrie.

He was glad they were turned away. Now they have to socialize which is the last thing on his mind right now.

He just wants dinner then go to sleep. His sleep deprived self is like a bomb waiting to explode.

He busied himself with food. He would casually talk to guests but get back to his food after. After eating he slipped out to smoke a bit. That should keep him awake.

He popped one in his mouth before lighting it up when he noticed a movement in his peripheral vision.

Napatigil din Nyx nang makita siya.
