CHAPTER 49

Two nights before the wedding.

Nagpakain ang mga magulang niya sa farm nila at inaya ang malalapit na kaibigan at kapamilya. 

It was the first time her siblings met Azrael. Hindi kasi nagtutugma ang schedules ng mga ito. Her siblings knew him from the broadsheet's business pages.

Doon din ay nakilala ni Laurie si Azrael. She made him promise a lot of things at tinakot na iitakin kung sasaktan siya nito.

Everyone was dancing around the bonfire just having their fun. They are all just so happy to be there.

Even Azrael's friends are there. Thunder, his best man, was there along with their closest friends - Tabi, Chael, Amara, Calhoun, and Marceline.

"Sigurado ka bang gusto mo iyang pakasalan?" Tanong ni Thunder sa kanya.

"Oo naman." Natatawang sabi niya.

"Promise ko sa iyo, kapag aayain ko siyang uminom, walang girls. As in, wala!"

"I trust him and his friends. Lalo ka na. You're his closest one."

"Who ever thought that that bastard will fall in love?"

"You'll find your match, Thunder."

Bumuntong-hininga ito. "I think me being a playboy is just a cover of my fear of commitment. It's not that I don't want an exclusive one with someone. It's about standing up for that relationship."

"Hmm...you mean, hindi mo siya kayang panindigan?"

"Yeah. You see, my family, is something that I cherish. I grew up with the mindset that I shouldn't disappoint them or go against them. I'm afraid to fall head over heels in love with a woman that is not acceptable to my family."

"What is acceptable to your family, Thunder?"

"A fellow Korean is a sure yes. Anybody else should have the same wealth as ours. We should be in the same circle. I don't get that. But maybe because my family has history with people just wanting us for our money." Uminom ito ng beer bago nagpatuloy. "Kaya nga bilib ako kay Azrael. He was able to stand up for you and your relationship."

"Because he loves me, Thunder. At naniniwala ako na kapag nahanap mo ang tamang babae na mamahalin mo ng sobra, magagawa mo rin ang magagawa niya. Your family wants your happiness that's for sure. Hindi lang tayo sang-ayon sa pamamaraan nila minsan."

"You are so right."

"Have you found her though?"

"How do you even know? I meet women. How should I know "the one"?"

Nagkibit-balikat siya. "Rizky knows how we figured that out."

"I better ask that prince then."

She waved him off while she went to Azrael. Nasa may bungad ito kausap ang ama niya.

Sumama siya sa usapan ng dalawa nang sabay-sabay silang mapatigil. A drunk and blabbering Greyson came to their gate.

"Ikakasal ka na talaga Nyx? Sa lalaking 'to? P*ta kung gusto mo rin lang ng babaero bakit hindi na lang ako? Ako pa rin ang mahal mo Nyx!"

Buti na lang at medyo malayo ang mga nagkakasiyahan at hindi umaabot sa kanila ang boses ni Greyson.

"This bastard just never stops." Bulong ni Azrael.

"Uncle!" Tawang nito sa ama niya na seryosong nakatingin dito. "Ito ba ang ipapakasal niyo sa anak niyo? Babaero iyan! Sinilaw lang kayo ng pera!"
