The doorbell rang at almost exactly 8:30, and that's when anxiousness first rushed through me. I'd never usually gotten nervous about things, since I was a very stubborn person and didn't tend to let my emotions show, but this was different. This was Ashton.
Alexis sensed my nerves and placed her hand on my shoulder, "it's okay. Don't be nervous, just go out and have fun."
She was right. Heck, when wasn't she? I smiled at her before going towards the door and opening it, revealing Ashton with some new, black jeans and a plain black t-shirt. He wasn't wearing a bandanna today, which left his hair to be free and spring around his forehead. He looked pretty breath-taking.
"Hello," he grinned, eyeing me.
"Hi," I smile back.
"Ready to go?" He asks and I nod. Alexis sends me a reassuring smile and a thumbs up while I shut the door behind me and we begin walking in a comfortable silence, out of University.
Throughout the walk, Ashton kept sending me glances, and had his thinking face on. Then, he reached over and entwined his fingers with mine, smiling sheepishly.
I chuckle and we continue walking. I got slightly confused when we began walking in the direction of the woods by our university. Ashton remained quiet, not giving away any clues as to where we were going.
He looked over at me and I quirked up an eyebrow as if to ask where we're going. In reply, he shrugged and said, "secret."
I rolled my eyes playfully, but my impatience didn't need to go on anymore, as we had come towards this cave that I hadn't noticed here the time I'd been running around with Ashton.
We walked inside it, and I expected it to just be dark and bleak. But it was anything but that. There were lit candle lights on any spare surfaced rock and around the floor, and a camp fire in the middle of the cave.
I was the living heart-eyed emoji.
"Do you like it?" Ashton asked me, nervously. "If it's not okay, we can go b-"
"I love it, idiot," I roll my eyes again at him. Then pull him in for a tight hug, him wrapping his arms around my waist. When I pull back, he leads me over to some large, comfy cushions on the floor, which we both sit on.
"Any other girl would be complaining about how cold it is," he states.
"I'm not any other girl," I say.
"I know."
I add, after a while, "and I'm a vampire."
"I also know."
I chuckle and turn towards him, he suddenly brings a packet of marshmallows from behind his back.
"Hungry?" He smirks.
"You don't need to be hungry to want a marshmallow," I exclaim.
"Very true," he opens the packet and we both grab a few, toasting them on the fire. "Want to play 10 questions?"
"10 questions?" I raise an eyebrow.
"Yeah," he picks up another marshmallow. "Like 21 questions but I'm lazy."
"Sure," I laugh.
"Okay," he crosses his legs in front of him. "Favourite colour?"
"Bl-" I begin but get interrupted.
"Except for black," he adds.
I sigh and then admit, "blue."
He smiles, "Favourite animal?"
