"Evi?" I hear Ashton say.

I stand up and dust myself off, taking a twig out of my hair. "Yes?"

I look up and see Ashton stood there, looking from me, to the broken branch, to the tree in which we fell from.

All of a sudden, I burst out laughing, at our stupidity, at how we were about to kiss and at how shocked we look. Ashton joins in after a while, chuckling.

"We're such idiots," I say.

He nods, walking over and linking our hands together, entwining our fingers. "Should we go back now?"

"Good idea," I hum.

He chuckles again, "sorry for, like, being up there and making you come up instead of me just climbing down."

I shake my head, "it's fine, it was funny."

"Are you hurt at all or.."

"I'm fine," I squeeze his hand. There was a slight pain on my knee but it was probably just a graze. "You?"

"No, I landed very elegantly."

"Sure, you did," I laugh.

We continue walking in a comfortable silence, swinging our hands between us.

I suddenly speak up, "So, Ash, how long were you in that tree for?"

He looks at me suddenly, "sorry?"

"I asked how long you were in the tree for."

"No, wait, what did you say before that?"

"So, Ash-"

"You called me Ash," he grins.

"And?"

"And it's cute. Sounds nice coming from you," he says.

"Do you want me to call you it?"

"Do you want to call me it?"

"Okay."

"Okay then," he smiles softly, squeezing my hand. "And I went to the tree as soon as I left Uni."

Ashton and I ended up spending time together that day. We went to the park and ate trashy food. It was fun. Once we finally arrived back, we both walked the normal way in, instead of climbing. As we got to our floor, the sound of music became more audible. It was a pop song, blasting into our ears, and I could hear people laughing and chatting.

Ashton furrowed his eyebrows at me, clearly not understanding what was going on either. We turned into the lounge, finding all of our friends and some other people dancing and drinking.

"Guuuuuuys!" Calum slurred, coming over to us. He took both of our hands that weren't holding each other's and dragged us over to what looked like a drinks table. "Have a drink!"

"I'm alright, Calum," I say to him. "But I think maybe you should slow down the drinking."

I lower the plastic cup from his mouth as I'm speaking. He almost growls at that like a distressed puppy, clearly he likes the liquor.

"I'm fine!" He reassures me. "Hey, where's that hot girl?" Calum turns and heads in a random direction of people and I gather that he's talking about Alexis.

"One drink won't hurt," Ashton shrugs.

"One drink?" I raise an eyebrow.

He nods, "just one."

Five drinks and a couple of 'shots' later, I was sat on the sofa, in between these two guys that I couldn't recognise.
