My Star From Another Star

1 - Who is she?

On a chilly night of December when everyone is hidden inside their blankets. We, army officers, have to stand on the border, protecting our country.

When everyone is busy enjoying their lavishing lives without anyone's interference. We, army officers, have to follow the commands of higher ranks.

Everyone told me not to join army and live as I do. But my heart said otherwise. Seeing those movies, reading the history of my country and listening to the national anthem made me want to be a soldier too. I don't regret taking this decision. Besides I think it's the best decision I took.

"General!", the army Captain came running to me and saluted me.

"Captain!", I saluted back.

"There is an emergency situation. Something weird is being detected on the radar. We need to pass an order so that they can go and see what's wrong."

"The soldiers are being assigned to stay on duty at the west side. Leave them. I will go there with my fellow members."

"General I will go with you too!", he bowed his head to me. I nodded at his gesture.

Once I checked if the area was safe to walk, I signalled the other members to follow me. I heard the bushes moving so I gave a 'stop' sign to them.

I walked there alone and saw a crow feeding on a corpse. The crow flew when it heard my footsteps approaching them. I looked at the dead body which was nude. It looked like it has been killed recently. But who did it?

With my walkie talkie I told the soldiers to come here quickly. They reached to me in a second.

"Sir! He is with no clothes", the new soldier said.

"It looks like someone killed him and took his clothes", I loaded my gun. "The killer would not have gone too far. Army officers Kim, Shin and Goo, follow the captain to that side and I will go this side."

"Sir will you be alright alone?", the Captain asked. I nodded and quietly went deeper in the dark area, making sure my footsteps won't be heard.

I have been wandering around this isolated place for nearly half an hour but couldn't find anyone.

I sat on the cliff and sighed and that was when I saw the shadow of someone running. I ran after the killer and fortunately matched my pace with him.

I pulled the hood of the killer and his long hair came in view. Is this some new trend of boys? I made him turn his head to me and my eyes met light brown deep yet soft eyes, which I almost got lost into. She is a girl.

I instantly looked away and asked her,"What are you doing near the border?"

No answer!

"Where are you from?"

No answer!

"Did you kill that man and wore his clothes?"

No answer!

"Are you a terrorist from the neighboring country?"

No answer!

"Are you deaf?"

No answer!

Is she really deaf? Oh no!

"Are you...are you dumb also? Can you not speak?"

What the fuck! She can't hear me and I am here bombarding her with questions. I pity her.

Out of nowhere she held my hand and closed her eyes.

I understand I am handsome but how can she just hold my hand. I scoffed.

"Park Yoon Seok . Studied in Harvard University. Failed in class 10th. Rich family....",and just like that she spilled out all my personal details.

My jaw dropped and fell to the ground. I quickly pulled my hands away from her.

Is she a shaman?

"No. I am not", she said.

Did I say that so loud?

"No. You didn't say that. I just read your mind!", she smiled.

Read my mind?

"Yes mister 10th failed."

I pointed my gun to her,"Shut up or I will shoot you."

How can she call me a 10th failed. I just failed in Maths.

"You failed in Social Studies also!"

"You!!", I fired the gun in the sky. "Next time it will be you not the sky."

"There will be no next time", she scoffed and snapped her fingers.

Nothing happened. She snapped her fingers again and again.

"What are you doing?", I put my hands on my waist.

She snapped her fingers again. Then she said something I couldn't understand.
Which language was that? Khasujanasii! What does that mean? But I was sure she was upset about something.

"Why are you so upset?", I asked.

"I can't go back home", she almost cried.

"I will take you to home. Which district are you from", I asked.

"I don't live here."

"You are a secret agent of the neighboring country. Aren't you?", I loaded my gun again.

"No. I don't belong here. I am from a far away place", she cried.

Before I could say any thing the walkie talkie rang and the captain said,"Captain  Min reporting. Sir there is no one here. Did you find the killer?"

I didn't know what to say. If I tell them they would surely report her to the State Security Department Office.

"No there is no one here! Everyone go and sleep. I think the killer has already left. Okay."

"Come with me", I asked her to follow me. I know this is wrong. This is unfair for the country. As an Army General, what I am doing is wrong but why does it feel,right? Why do I want to protect this girl? Why do I want to help her going back home? There is nothing I know about her. What's her name? How did she reach here? Where is her home? And last but not the least...

Who is she?
