I pushed her hair back while kissing her. And like earlier my eyes caught a glance of the scar on her neck.
Something again in my mind got triggered. Some unrecognizable scenarios. Some unfamiliar voices. I parted my lips away from her.
My eyebrows creased and I started rubbing my forehead.
"Are you okay?", she asked.
"Yeah. I think I have a little head ache. I am fine ", I smiled.
"Are you sure you're fine?", she asked with worry skating all over her face.
"Yeah it's okay. Let's sleep. I have to go to seduce Min Seong tomorrow, right? And take the ring away from him", I said.
"Hmm", she nodded.
I laid down on my back and closed my eyes. It was a tiring day today.
"Goodnight", she switched off the lamps and laid beside me.
"Goodnight sweetie", I chuckled.
"Stop saying that", she cried.
I like teasing her. Sweetie. It's cute,no?
Once I drifted to sleep, I got lost in a world of dreams.
Somewhere in the Goryeo Period
One of the court lady came running and bowed her head to me.
"The king has asked for you", she said politely.
I nodded and went in the king's room.
"His majesty. You asked for me", I lowered myself in order to pay respect.
"Princess Do-Hwa is arriving today. Go and pick her up", he said.
"As you say his majesty", I said.
I left the palace on my horse to pick up Princess Do-Hwa, whom I am going to get married to. I have to follow the king's command. Only if I marry her, the revolt between her father and mine can be resolved.
On my way, I saw a girl sitting on the road. I quickly pulled my horse's rope in order to stop it.
"Hey! Why are you sitting in the middle of road", I shouted.
She gave no answer.
"Hey! You are blocking my way",I said.
No answer.
I jumped from my horse and pulled out my sword in order to fear her. But she didn't give a reaction and looked at me cluelessly.
I sighed and sat back on my horse. How can she do this to a prince? Does she not know who I am or is she pretending not to know?
"I am asking you once again to move aside", I said.
No reply!
Is this the way to treat a prince? I need to hurry and pick Do-Hwa. This girl is wasting my time. After a second she stood up and walked away in other route. Does she need a doctor? Why won't she listen to me? Why didn't walked off when I asked her to. Whatever! I need to go now.
Once I reached there, Do-Hwa was already waiting for me.
I greeted her with a smile on my face,"Let's go the Palace."
"What's the hurry about? Why won't take your fiance to the market place", she said.
"If that's what you want. Let's go there", I said.
I sat on my horse and she settled on her horse. Both of us went to the market place riding on our horse's back.
People bowed their heads and made way for us to ride freely. Except one person who was just standing there. She looked familiar. I opened my eyes widely and looked at her. Oh my! She is the girl who was sitting on the middle of road. Does she has some issues with me or is she really clueless that I am the king's son.
Some ladies started ordering her to bow her head but she didn't bother listening them.
I saw my brother riding the horse from the opposite direction. That girl was standing in his way.
Oh God! He will not bother running up the horse over her.
I quickly whipped my horse and rode towards the girl. My brother Jung was very close to run over her but I managed to pick her up with one hand while the other was holding the string and make her sit along with me on the horse. She was scared and so wrapped her arms around my neck.
I looked at her and she was looking at me with mouth opened. The horse stopped moving but she was still sitting infront of me, her hands still encircling my neck. I looked around and all the people in the market place were looking at us. Jung raised his brow. What made me scared was Do-Hwa's dead stare.
I pushed the girl away from me and she fell on the ground. God! I didn't intend on doing that. Without saying a word I moved away from there.
"Let's go", I said to both of them.
Once we reached the palace, Do-Hwa excused both of us.
"What were you thinking? I would have run the horse over her?", Jung scoffed.
"You would not have mind doing that", I smirked.
"Oh so little Prince Eun wanted to be generous and safe her." In a matter of seconds he changed his tone and said,"How dare she stand in the way of a Crown Prince. Instead of saving her you should have cut her neck."
"I am sorry Crown Prince to disappoint you. But that girl has some screws loose", I told.
"I don't care if she is crazy or handicapped. She has disrespected me. She will pay for it", he smirked and left.
I ran after him but some one said,"Why do you care if he cuts her neck or marry her."
I stopped on my way and turned around to see Do-Hwa. She is right though. Why do I care? But that girl behaved in same way with me. It doesn't seem right to kill her. It feels wrong.
Before I could see more the screen turned black. I started breathing heavily.
"Jung will kill her", I almost said to myself.
"Yoon-Seok what happened?", she asked.
"Ha-Neul", I opened my eyes and looked at her worriedly.
"He will kill you", my voice was breaking.
"Who will kill me?", she asked.
"Jung will kill you", I said.
"There is no Jung here. Relax. It's just a bad dream", she said.
"He-e-ee was...", I stopped and thought about it. Yeah it must be a bad dream.
"It's okay. It's just a night mare. Relax!", she squeezed my shoulders softly.
I breathed in and out. She poured water from a jug and gave the glass to me. I drank water and closed my eyes for a second.
Relax! Relax Yoon-Seok.
It's just a nightmare.
