*I have no clue why I started getting emotional writing this one. But thank you everyone for 1.1k reads! I've fixed the plots so the story will be more fast paced from now on!*

3rd person Pov:

"What do you mean worse?"

"Well... It's not even a curse for starters. And it'll kill you in the end no matter what." Douxie said, failing to sugarcoat the situation.

"That's great. How do we fix it?"

"We don't. If we need to get you back, then we have to do it before whatever this is overtakes you."

"So how long does he have?" Toby asked.

"About 2 weeks."

"What?!" Toby and Jim exclaimed.

"We should probably start then."

"Kanjigar said that we could bring people's memories back by reenacting them."

"That won't work. Merlin did say there was an artifact in his tomb that could bring people's memories back. I didn't know why he told me that before but it makes sense now."

"Then we have to go find it!"

"But to get to Merlin's tomb- it'll take a long time. And there's no gyre going there."

"I have an idea." Jim said.

The next day:

Jim saw Claire frozen in front of the school entrance. She quickly ran to Jim when she saw him walking toward her.

"Woah. You're- You're ok! I thought you died or something... I- I'm panicking right now. What happened yesterday?"

"We can't talk about it here."

"But then where else? School is about to start, we're going to be late."

"Well this is a bit more important than school."

"Nuh uh." She said, "No way I'm being yelled at when I get home. My mom will kill me if I skip school."

"Trust me." He assured her.

She let out a shaky breath, and followed Jim. He led her to the canal, and dug around in his bag, to find his Horngazel.

"Jim, right? Why am I here?"

"Well, I wanted to show you something but I can't find my Horngazel."

"What's that?"

"Oh it's like a crystal-"

"Not that." she said, grabbing his shoulders to turn him around, "That."

She pointed to Bular who was standing under the bridge. He chuckled and jumped down onto the early morning shadows. Claire's eyes went wide as she slowly backed into the wall.

"What. Is. That?" She asked Jim, who was looking at Bular but not doing anything.

"Well Trollhunter, how do you expect to win this? You don't even have much time left to find the green knight."

"Jim, what is he- it- saying?"

"Claire." He said, rapidly, "I need you to dig deep." He looked back at Bular, who was not amused by their talking. "You have something called shadow magic. You need to make a portal and get us out of here. Now."

"I don't have magic. I'm just a normal person."

"Enough!" Bular yelled, charging at Jim.

"For the glory of Merlin, Daylight is mine to command!" He yelled, before being held up against the wall.

"If I get rid of you, my father's victory will be guaranteed."

Claire's Pov:

I woke up on a sleeping bag on the grass. This place was unfamiliar to me, but it felt so real. I ran my hand over the grass, and got up. I was wearing some sort of purple armor, embedded with a crystal. I saw some tents, and ran to look inside them, nothing.

"Hey Claire." Someone said from behind me.

I turned around to see a tall person waving at me. From the voice it seemed like a guy. His face was blurred out, but his armor looked like the one Jim had put on before he... I winced and clutched my head as I tried to return back to reality.

"Are you ok? Are you sick?" The person said, running up to me.

"Who are you?"

"Ha ha." He laughed, sarcastically, "Nice joke Claire."

"No really. Who are you? What is this place? I-"

The person took my hand as I panicked, gently rubbing it with his thumb.

"You could always teleport back if you feel sick. It's ok. I'll be fine without you."

Those words sparked a hidden match inside of me.

"Really? You almost died, and you expect me to leave you alone? No. I'll be by your side, forever and always. For a hundred lifetimes."

I got pulled out of the trance, and before I knew it, I was lying on the ground with Jim hovering over me.

"Claire! Are you ok?"

"What happened? Where is the-"

"You distracted him enough for me to stab him."

I looked over his shoulder to see a pile of rocks, in the place of the giant monster that was there before.

"What did I do?"

"You... Yelled out my name, and hit him with your magic. What happened to you?"

"I think I just had the strangest dream."

I saw something glinting in the pile of rocks, and walked towards it. It was an orange crystal, and a handle on it.

"I assume this is your Horngazel?"
